The Forester's Outpost 07/02/2003 06:17 PM CDT
Hey everyone, if you get a chance, take a look at my (almost complete) website http://www.ashcomics.com/tfo.html . It has hundreds of scripts that will make you a great zombie! No, I'm kidding. Anyway, it's something I've worked on off and on and then threw it all away and restarted. I just figuired it'd be a nice way to put to use 6+ years of playing DR. So far, I'm satisfied with the recent version (except for the couple of pages that are slated for finish this weekend). Also, I put together a ranger registry there, much like the one Eldrad has on his site for moon mages, because I think it's a great way for rangers to get to know each other, so if you can, send me an email with the info on that page, and I'll post you. Finally, if there's something you want to see on the site, and you feel you have enough knowledge on the topic, write it up and send it to me! I'll give it a look and probably post it!

Again, the site is http://www.ashcomics.com/tfo.html

Nice site Storm. Are you planning on making a tanning and fletching sections? If so, I can write up a short talk on both, tanning is probably in the mid-range of tanners now, not like Dritz's but I'm making decent leathers.

One suggestion though. Where you list the healing herbs, move the place healed to the left side of the chart. I can read it ok, but personally I think it would flow a bit smoother that way.

Thanks for the advice! As far as the fletching/tanning goes, yeah...it's there under item creation, however as it says, I'm horrible at it, and anyone who wants to do a write up is more than welcome to, i just ask you give as much info as possible (ie: the skills it takes to carve what woods). i can put them in tables too, if you are unfamiliar with HTML.

Also, thanks for those who've submitted their info so far, I'm going to update it when I receive 5-10 submissions, just so I'm not updating the page as soon as I upload it.

Thanks for letting me know, Izzit. I threw a copy of the site onto a floppy to preserve space and ever since, the links have been changed to reflect th A drive - which is something I've never experienced building a page...it's enchanted or something. Regardless, now it should be in much better shape.

One of the things I wanted to put together is a list of when certain items could be made (what skill) The problem is no one that I have talked to has nailed down all the effects. Tarragon is a bit vague (gave into Jent's power of the dark side I suppose). The other problem is, we know agility has a place so while someone with X agility can do a journey pack at Y skill, someone with less or more than X will see Y adjusted. Hopefully that makes sense. I have 22 agility and couldn't make a journey pack with 90 mech and 105 skinning. So..I am waiting for a while and will try it again with 95 mech, agility is still 22. I wonder if intelligence plays a part?

Nice looking site! I signed up for the registry, figured hey, why not... but as we move up, do you want us to send updates as to where we hunt, etc?

Where am I going?
And why am I in this handbasket?

Depends - if you mean "Hey, I'm going to aesry for a month to fight stalkers and then heading back to my normal hunt" nah...if you are going to be devoting yourself to stalkers or whatever new creature, then sure, if you want to ;)

And thanks!

The Forester's Outpost...Updated! 07/23/2003 11:21 AM CDT
Hi everyone, I just wanted to drop a quick post and say the Forester's outpost has been updated. Sorry about the delay, I have been interviewing for a job and a doing some freelance work for the prospective employer, which for some reason took priority ;p. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their information, I don't think I left anyone out on this update, if so, let me know. I'll be updating again (assuming I get more info) next week when I return from a quick trip to Michigan. http://www.ashcomics.com/tfo.html

The Forester's Outpost Update 08/23/2003 06:29 PM CDT
Seeing Krin's update gave me the initiative to kick myself and finally get my update my site with the latests registered rangers and such, so if you've sent me something in the last few weeks, it should be up there now. We're up to 25 rangers and counting - woo! keep them coming! considering I don't have any trips planned in the coming weeks, and I move next week, my life should become a little less crazy and things should be updated more frequently.

I've also started to keep a little journal concerning training a new ranger i rolled up after the purge. The way I've seen it is a lot has changed since i was a novice ranger, and starting anew is giving me a lot of insight as to what some of the little ones are going through. The first three entries are up there - young ones hopefully will find it helpful.

I'm still looking for someone to offer to write up a short, yet acurate guide to tanning or fletching, so feel free to send it to me if you so desire. (site: http://www.ashcomics.com/tfo.html and email is thestormyranger@ashcomics.com)

Thanks for the registries and the help!

Storrmm (and now little Storm!)

The Forester's Outpost Updated! (finally!) 11/04/2003 06:30 AM CST
Hey everyone, I finally took advantage of a day off and updated the Forester's Outpost - adding a number of ranger registrations and the scouting and foraging pages. I've had a lot of Rangers register at the site so far, but there's still a lot more out there, so send them in! Also, if you registered between August and September and don't see your information it's because my computer began to act up on me and I lost the saved emails, so if you could, please send your information once again. I appreciate it! http://www.ashcomics.com/tfo.html

Hey Artists! The Forester's Outpost Needs You! 07/02/2005 04:50 PM CDT
Hello Everyone!

For those who've never been there, I've put together the site www.forestersoutpost.com, but don't look right now, it's woefully out of date.

But that is changing!

I've been working on what i feel is my best incarnation to date of the site, and it's almost complete. But it needs something - you!

I'm currently looking for artists to provide me with some work to put on the site. I can't pay you irl, because let's face it, I'm not even making money on the site, but if you want, I can put together something IG, maybe some plats for every piece I work (But again, IG I'm not very wealthy).

I don't mean to sound picky but there are certain things I'm looking for:

1) Rangers (duh) - basically give me some rangers doing what rangers do best...hunting, foraging, tanning, etc...
2) I'm really not looking for cartoony art, but I don't want that to stop you from sending it.
3) Full color would be best, but I'll consider everything.
4) Last but not least, I'd really like to find someone to do a picture of Storrmm for the site, and I could arrange something special.

Send all images to ilithicforester@gmail.com . Please include either your name or that of your character, as well as the title of the picture.

If you have any questions, you can either email me, or IM Ilithic Forester.

Thanks!
