Teach horse to pack. Basically, we could teach smaller horses to carry packages or containers. I am envisioning Bill the pony or some prospector's pony holding his loot and/or being able to accompany him into mines, at least to a point. It would make smaller horses more desirable, and allow longer/safer trips for mining.
