We used to have the ability to make 2 personal trail markers and learn how to make a hunter's bow at that circle.

As far as I know the 2 PTM deal is still there (although I can't find it in the wiki anymore. The ranger abilities pages have changed a lot and it looks like that detail may have been lost)

Hunter's Bows went away when shaping was introduced and is eventually going to be replaced by guild-specific crafting templates.
