Was it ever possible to speak more than one racial language?

Someone I know who played 10 years ago claims it was possible then.

no. i played back in 1996. the only people who can understand other languages are bards.

If someone can actually "speak" a language not their own, its a GMNPC. Ordinary PCs, newp.

Necromancy provides the only source of reliable and potent life extension on Elanthia.

We can all speak tow languages, common and our race. Bards are able to understand other languages. To my knowledge and I have been around since long before the web move, no one was able to speak more than the common and their race.
