Oh, snap. 07/12/2008 05:30 PM CDT
So, I was bored while listening to classes today, and tried checking snap with every two letter combination in the English alphabet.

Snap can be used on beards and mustaches somehow?
>snap beard
You ponder that, briefly, but decide to let it go for now.

Here are the actual ones I have found.

Snap disgust
>snap di
You snap your fingers once and spit in a display of pure disgust.

Snap happy
>snap hi
You snap your fingers to a happy beat and dance around excitedly!

Snap Quick
>snap qu
You quickly snap your fingers letting everyone know it's time to move!

Snap soft
>snap sof
You softly snap your fingers as if wondering what to do next.

R> snap help

...wait 2 seconds.

Snapping fingers is a type of Human body language that is often used to accentuate a conversation. Options include: ponder, music, loud, command, curse and several others. Experiment at will!

Perhaps a daunting task, but you might try different combinations of three letters at some point. Perhaps it will enhance your chance of finding something that the two letter combinations didn't reveal. :)

LOL

I don't know if that's good or bad...

But yes, I've recently joined the Human team to help GM Equity, the original guru. :)

That was intranets excitement that someone might actually begin paying attention to us. Perhaps you would have preferred a w00t?

The parser sometimes has trouble with 3-letter combinations, and of course there's some hidden/internal commands. For instance, SNAP VIA would not work because VIA is an internal command but SNAP VIAL would work.

Dunno if there's policy restriction/preference that prevents user commands from using options that overlap with such things, though there's probably no such thing as SNAP VIAL anyways (would be cool to be able to snap random small objects at people a la SPECULATE COIN).

Yes, that's the goal! I can't really list any details, but I'm working on and off with something now that should make it easier to facilitate advancements as far as Human development is concerned.

I hope that's not TOO vague... ;)

Well, the two letter combination was the lion's share of the work. Now everyone can narrow down all the two letter combinations and run scripts that check the three letter combinations after that.

This should make it easier:

define variable pos1 pos2 pos3

for temp1 = 97 to 122
begin
for temp2 = 97 to 122
begin
for temp3 = 97 to 122
begin
calculate pos1 chr $temp1$
calculate pos2 chr $temp2$
calculate pos3 chr $temp3$
put snap $pos1$$pos2$$pos3$
# wait
end
end
end

exit

errorhandler:
printbox 265 "Error #$errornumber$ occurred on the line #$errorline$ : $line$"
EXIT

So Han, I can basically copy and paste that into a script, run it in YASSE and it'll go through all the variations from AAA to ZZZ?

BTW how do you figure out how many there are again? I forget probability. :(

Bingo. You might want to uncomment the wait command.

26^3... I think.

It would take about 5 hours if you did one combination per second. You could probably do it significantly faster if you used full queuing.

What I've found so far through KZZ:

>Plugin Send: snap hap
You snap your fingers to a happy beat and dance around excitedly!

>Plugin Send: snap dis
You snap your fingers once and spit in a display of pure disgust.

>Plugin Send: snap cus
You snap your fingers and throw down your arms, accepting defeat. Oh, well, maybe next time!

>Plugin Send: snap ang
You snap your fingers as you seethe in attempt to keep down your anger.

Hanryu, the script worked like a charm.

JMF, what do you mean by full queuing?

If you could list them all when you are done that'd be awesome. Thanks!

I mean using the type ahead lines to maximum effect. Whenever I'm doing some repetitive action where I don't need a match table I try to do this. Movement scripts, gem selling, even removing armor. The trick is to use a variable to track how many commands are in the queue and then an action when the command goes through. Certain things can be sped up dramatically, although anything that involves an inventory change will still be sluggish from all the stupid XML that gets sent.

Semi-related pro tip: don't sell gems out of your stow pack, fill a few pouches and sell from those for more speed.
