when i cast footman's strike it says currently lacking the skill to complete the pattern the spell fails compltely TM 25 HM 50 what does this mean and when will it not fail thanks

Footman's Strike is a targeted spell.

1. What syntax are you using (you should be using TARGET FST # instead of PREP FST #)
2. How much mana are you using?
3. Are you waiting until the targeting is complete before casting?
