Could Courage get a pulsing vitality heal as either a meta-spell or baked into the original spell? This would bring back at least some of the flavor of the spell as well as fit the Paladin theme by helping buffer damage due to the vitality "shield". Since there are already a few spells and items that do this I don't think it is overly powerful and can add a decent unique aspect of a rather bland buff (Paladin spells just buffing a single stat is extremely lackluster).
