Changing Sects 04/12/2015 08:26 PM CDT

I know it is currently not possible, but I was wondering if there has ever been thought to allowing people to change sects? Perhaps with some sort of quest and very limited? I feel like the decisions I made a decade ago are not the same ones that fit my character today.

Well, technically you can change sects, but only to Heritage House. Once there, you can't change at all.

There's a warning involved, but this is the Moon Mage folders after all. Wouldn't be the same without it.

Oh, definitely. Back before they were released - particularly when some of them were out, and others were still waiting in the wings - there was a lot of talk about allowing people to change sects. And the GM response was a resounding "No" without the slightest hint of humor. So, don't hold your breath.

I feel the same way.

It's been brought up that if there was a Very good reason (I believe IG and out) it would be considered but nothing has been accepted yet.

I stand by my prior statement. I could see this as a possibility with some major limitations in the future - but I'd like to see cantrips rewritten first or we're just going to have this conversation all over again.

Do you know offhand which ones are still broken? It would save me a trip through five different provinces and a couple dozen scripts.

Nope, unless it was done as a ninja fix in the last month or so since I last checked.

The ones I know for sure:
Scorch (Burn - the book at you know where)
Fling (Telekinetic Throw - that person in Throne City)

The ones that may possibly be broken, but I don't actually know for sure because I can't access the quest for them:
Sibo Nijare (Moonblade - the book at you know where)
Narmor Feas (Telekinetic Throw - Sect leader)
Sibowen (Teleport - Sect leader)

The book should be fixed - Naohhi did that awhile back. Same with Sibo Nijare.

Narmor Feas and Sibowen, unless I'm greatly mistaken, don't actually check for spell knowledge. They just aren't useful without.

That just leaves Fling - which is now fixed.

Heh, I had been periodically checking the fling one because it's easy to get to and assuming neither had been fixed. Thanks for the quick fix! I must missed her post about the book, since she's good about announcing things. And stuff.
