It is my understanding that "Read the Ripples" is not supposed to pick constellations/planets the moon mage does not know as a target for observation. However, this evening while testing it:

As your consciousness drifts amongst the currents of Fate, you find yourself drawn towards the planet Amlothi.

You redirect your efforts with the telescope.
You put your eye to the clockwork telescope and attempt to center on the planet Amlothi.

The planet Amlothi is unobscured by clouds.
Amlothi shines a merry yellow-green as it keeps watch from above.
Your knowledge of the heavens is lacking.
You learn nothing of the future.
