Re: Been away from the realms. 01/30/2008 10:18 PM CST
I've been away from the Realms for some 2 or 3 years. Just coming back and finding my way about healing again. I couldn't really find a solid guide to the herbs and alchemy and if it has changed at all since I left.

Anybody have any good guides to the herbs and alchemy and the new spells that affect it?

Kythryn's webpage is what I usually refer to when I need to look up something about alchemy: http://www.kythsjournal.com/alchemy.htm

She has a lot of info about what you need, where things are, and how to put it together.

As for spells, the only new spell I can relate to alchemy is Sprout which will make healing items you forage more effective for a little while after you forage them. I think much of the alchemical development has been put off until the mechanical lore split.

Sprout (currently) has 2 uses... you can cast it on yourself, and get a bonus to foraging herbs or you can cast it on a foraged herb and it makes it much more potent for a little while.

I think that foraging boost is pretty sizable too.
