The first pulse does not show either.

Maybe now that there's an official substances GM some of these long standing issues can be resolved. I'd repost that in the herb folder.

Rossmans Herbs complaint 06/15/2008 07:09 PM CDT
I've tried posting in the rossmans folder with no response, so I'll post here. The herbs sold in the shop differ from those sold in any other shop. Granted they want to give some variety. But the way they differ have made them less useful than any herbs sold elsewhere!

2 examples : Doses - some of the herbs sold there - at comparable prices to those sold elsewhere - have only one dose as opposed to the amount sold on aesry, riverhaven, langenfirth, shard, and crossing <not sure on fordedhar>

some of them one takes by inhaling. The problem with this:

>>eat hul grass
You'd be better off trying to inhale some hulnik grass.<<

>>inhale hul grass
Inhale while in water? Crazy. <<

My dwarf was fighting in vipers east of haven at the time. The Water is only ankle deep. Why the bloody hell he can't inhale if he's only standing in a puddle is beyond me, but thats what the messaging was.

<<Because it's a gigantic can of worms. Eldritch, necrotic, squamous worms, writhing in a vile stew of coagulating ichor, crushed from the living gullets of a thousand infant puppies, ululating in wordless terror. - Lorz>>

Just as an aside, Dart, it doesn't appear to be Rossman's only. I buy herbs from the guy over in Mer'Kresh, and I have the same wonkiness of having to inhale grass and eat ithor potion and so forth.

Heyo!

Yeah, I think we found the problem, but tracking down all the places where things are broken is going to be a headache. We'll get 'em, though.

Empaths and Herbs in your system 12/10/2008 05:43 PM CST
Just a thought that crossed my mind so I said I'd post it after I overstuffed my fat face today with herbs.

Would anyone see the benefit of an empath being able to sense what herbs are in someone's system?

It would be rather situational- But if we're talking about a war time triage, it might help empaths who are otherwise on the virge of overhealing.

I don't see it being worth the time it would take to code.

Skills Needed for Kaith Partani
Need 293 (500) Empathy.
Have at least 200 in #1 Armor (Light Chain).
Have at least 240 Evasion.
Have at least 160 Shield Usage.

I don't see a benefit to making this an empath ability. In my experience, people don't care that an empath takes their wounds at the same time active herbs are swooshing around trying to heal something. Since herb healing would probably be visible anyways (at least as long as it was a viewable wound), what about making this a general ability with empaths getting a lot more detailed info?

Kinda like bards and instrument appraisal.

I feel the sprout spell brought back herb use and the spell fountain of creation killed it(time will tell)
the same real empaths are gonna use herbs and the rest won't.

and vitality healing needs to be a pre req for fountain of creation(IMO)

and making potions is just neat, sell a tincture be a traveling road show, the herb shops don't sell them. and with wax lables being all around you can make your own wicked brew with name on container...

just my thoughts
If you disagree, you should

Sprout has a small niche for lower level empaths. By the time you're thinking of casting FoC, you probably haven't cast the sprout spell in months.

I think the Sprout spell should boost the effectiveness of its usefulness.

<<I think the Sprout spell should boost the effectiveness of its usefulness.

It should do a lot more then that, like be permanently casts on the herb and be perceivable. But that is a whole other battle
