Hi all

Since apparently my empath needs tactics to level, I am going to attempt to turn my empath into a combat empath. Any tips would be appreciated.

Currently I have one question. Regarding tactics, can an empath perform all tactical moves without getting shock?

Tactics isn't required but can fulfill one of the nth Lore skill reqs. You could fill that with one of the crafting skills instead.

With Absolution you can attack undead without incurring shock while the spell is active. You can also attack constructs anytime without incurring shock.

I highly recommend the route of a combat Empath. You can be extremely effective. You do not need to train weapons if you don't want to.

My Empath gains the vast majority of his Empathy in combat, by manipulating critters. He puts up AGS and IC (though IC is kind of useless) and summons a GS. The GS is in stance offensive, and set to behave aggressively. I support the warrior, cast Vigor on it, and then cast Lethargy on whatever I'm facing. If the mana is good, I'll also cast Paralyze. I then WEAVE and CIRCLE a few times.

It's effective, but unfortunately there's not much more to it than that.
