I hate it when animals talk to me. It's unnatural and wrong. Animals are pets, clothing or dinner. Not conversation partners.
Why do people assume talking animals are normal? I still get freaked out when a panther slinks up. Makes me reflexively innocence instead of hunker down for a good bit of hooh hah. I aint got no time for that jibber jabber.
