>>That's not an excuse for making part of the already limited empath spellbook impossible to get
And it's also not what's being asked for here. It's not an issue of spell slots, it's an issue of not being able to reach regen because you can't learn HW and HS. It took me less than 5 minutes to actually read the thread.

Is there a reason Regenerate can't be put on preview as a band-aid?
I understand not wanting to take HW/HS/Heal off preview if there's still stuff to be done with them, but not being able to get Regenerate is sort of a big issue right now for some people.

>>Definitely not 30th circle here and have more than 250 PP. Basically, this preview come out right as I hit 30th... I've leveled 20 times since then and I'd like to start using regen.
Regenerate as a 30th circle spell is just flat-out broke if you actually only have 30th-circle magic skill (110 in your 1st magic, 80 in your 2nd magic, 80 in your 3rd magic). If you have this amount of magic skill and you choose Regenerate, your very next move should be to go to Throne City to either forget the spell or get an additional spell slot.
However, Regenerate as your 30th-circle spell choice is useful in practical terms if your magics are at or beyond 38th circle reqs (150 in 1st magic, 112 in 2nd/3rd magics). Up to the recent mana change, this included bizarre combinations that neglected Power Perception (ie, more difficult time finding enough mana).

Throughout all of this, I hope no one loses sight of the fact that I (and others) are really really happy to be having these spells reworked in the first place. Hooray no more redundant spells that all function exactly alike!
But yeah, it would be nice to finally get regen.

I am a huge fan of Heal and Heal Scar. My only question is how do you keep your pet bleeders while cleaning up internals without IWH. Not had the need, but been in the back of my mind.

The mana you were holding contributes to the spell.

HW and HS are the empath versions of the NC/Blend integration plan for Rangers. For all intents and purposes, we're not exactly losing EWH/IWH/ESH/ISH so much as removing them as distinct slotted spells.

If magic holds you back from circling as an empath you fail at DR.

The upsetting thing is this seems to be a special mechanic. In the past I've always been able to permanently learn spells on preview. When Sprout was on Premium preview I went and learned it permanently but for some reason we can't do that with HS and HS. I think they should either make it so we can learn HS and HW or put Regen on preview with them because denying empaths the, current, best healing spell for weeks with no determinable end is ridiculous.

I would surmise it has to do with the fact that Sprout was a brand new spell while HS/HW were pre-existing spells that got rewritten, rather than a concerted effort to screw over Empaths.

Most likely but being that they're on preview I don't understand why we can't learn them if we want. We've had plenty of time to play with the changes and as is the main point in this thread, they're needed to learn regen.

Um, I was agreeing with your statement and adding on to it. Unless that wasn't directed at me because Ashuban seems to be the one with the lack of reading comprehension.(And you if that was directed at me)

Fairly soon, in addition to Heal, we have 3 more spells about ready for testing. I want to get them out and tested before we refund spell slots. |
- GM Dartenian |
It took less than 5 minutes to find that. Now think about how many of those 3 spells mentioned have been put out for testing and consider we've been told a couple major projects have tied up a lot of time and GMs also have a life beyond this game. |
Asbhuan/Plat |
While "Fairly soon" may be a timeline you can deal with (and certainly Simu can deal with) I like to go by more definitive times. It's been 3 months since this has been on preview. IMO, "Fairly soon" should have ended "a while" ago.
So again, can we get some kind of timeframe (i.e. 1 week, 1 month, etc.) as to when we can possibly see these spells be removed from preview? If not, can we please get Regen added to the preview for its duration? Is this such a difficult request?

>JMF was recently musing in another thread about the collective loss of DR memory.
You'd have to have serious memory issues if you didn't remember projects that have been significantly delayed or abandoned entirely. After a long period of time, it's normal to ask for an update, especially when Regen is in total limbo. To suggest otherwise is silly.
