>>.Phyneas asks Tallis, "How will prevention of worship be accomplished?"<<
>>Tallis says, "We will hunt you down and hang you up infront of the guild for all to see."<<
This was also about the 10th time that Tallis had answered the question of what would the guild do to a cleric not following the standard and accepted religion. The answer was always that a cleric could worship what ever god they wished outside of the guild. So after repeatedly answering the question, a sarcatic answer was given followed by some chuckling.
Really now, the guild has no intention of hunting you or any other person down because you worship a god other then the 13 or their aspects. Will there in the future be negative and or positive impacts for the god you decide to follow. At this time I would say that is very possible, but nothing is set in stone or even fully designed. But the idea is being tossed around to bring the gods a bit more into the front and make them a bit more important in the day to day lives of everyone.

I dislike this idea because it brings an entirely RP decision into the mechanics realm, where it is guaranteed to be powergamed into oblivion.

But not inside. Which is a problem as far as some people are concerned.

I strongly suggest being very, very careful how this is done. There is a reason that the influence of the gods has been ambiguous at best in past events.
Tallis' recent approach is extremely hardline and frankly more reminiscent of Christian dogma than anything the religion of the Thirteen was modeled after. It has me wondering what direction this event is meant to go in, because where it's leading to now is...scary.

I am extremely concerned about this.

I guess I thought the lack of western god support was a PURE antiquated mechanics issue. Rakash gods being added to pray had me feeling hopeful. Are there really no plans to add support (by favor orbs, and calling out while casting benediction and resurection) to the "alternative" gods?
I'm opposed to any plans that give positives or negatives based on god choice, though I would like to see religion become more important in day to day DR life, for more than just Clerics.
From the log I read, a lot of what was said didn't sound like it was planned, and maybe typed in haste.
I'm feeling very negative about the direction this could be headed in. I think a lot of rethinking needs to be done.

Partially, but not fully.

From my perspective, and I think I've tried to make this clear, my goal is to increase the RP possibilities for clerics and even non-clerics when it comes to religion. So are there plans such as the ones mentioned above in the works? Hmmm, very possible. If such systems were in the works would they look anything like the current systems, highly doubtful. If we are going to explore other religions and adding in support its going to be done in a means that brings some individuality and uniqueness to them.
Also when I mention pluses and minuses to following a certain god or aspect I'm not talking about ground breaking type of things. Minor stuff is more like it and things that would add to the RP environment.

Thanks for this, you've given me hope that playing a Rakash cleric wasn't a (mechanical) mistake. I hate introducing myself as a follower of Mrod and having mechanics thrown in my face. Woohoo!
Sorry if most of my posts are coming off as negative today, I don't mean it that way, playing a cleric has been the most fun I've had in DR, ever. And I'm warming up to the idea of an eastern vs western holy war...

I've never viewed being a Rakash Cleric as a mistake, especially all those years it was Shalrin, me and Magrid... the three lone Rakash Clerics. Although, Shalrin and Magrid weren't the traditionalists that Bambina is.
>I hate introducing myself as a follower of Mrod and having mechanics thrown in my face.
People have been trying that for years, it's never slowed me down. (Before Enelne's name was known I always claimed the mother that raised me was our goddess.)
