Another idea for filling Inspiration:

When bonded instruments get released, various interactions with them will inspire the bard to great feats. Interactions that normally don't inspire the Bard with other instruments would provide a small bit of inspiration. Those interactions that would inspire the Bard with a normal instrument cause an even greater level of inspiration than normal with the bonded instrument.

This would include, but not be limited to cleaning, repairing, playing, assessing, appraising, focusing, recalling, etc.
