Not that I am the most magic-aware or understanding of Bards... but.. I thought I understood that Pyre had to be cast area to hit creatures not engaged with me.

So at least that is how it seemed to work 2 nights ago when I sang it. But tonight I was in crossing gargs and just cast it (not area) and it hit skunks in the room that I was not engaged with in combat. (and for sure the sneaky devils were not stalking me!)

I assessed, so I am positive I wasn't at any range with them.
