In Preparation for Songsworn... 05/17/2012 08:30 AM CDT
It has occured to me that, while many Bards choose not to or do not like to engage in PvP, many Bards love the idea of joining the Songsworn Heritage House which is tailored to be the most combat centric out of all of the Heritages. This cannot do.

More Bards need to at least learn how to fight against an intelligent enemy. Far too many times I've watched Bards resort to spamming the red button(Scream Concussive) in a fight but let me tell you, this will not be your safety net in 3.0. The contest behind this scream is being revised to use Targeted Magic instead of Vocals and the damage is altered to be a weaker more accurate shotgun style attack.

So now that one of my combat apprentices, Terra, has run off with Marsais I have more time to take on additional Bards who wish to learn the ways of intelligent combat using our guild abilities. While I have no plans to join any Heritage I can at least help to train up some of you in the ways of intelligent combat, should our guild ever be attacked again. After all, I believe that's what the Songsworn are for.

I'll bite. Issus doesn't do the "apprentice" thing, but I wouldn't mind seeing what you do these days for PvP. I don't even bother really, the only people who get into conflict with me just one shot me from hiding anyway, but there are a few combos I'd like to try. Though I guess they'll be changing with new magic, I doubt they'll be changing for the worse! <3 castable spells.

TBH, I don't have any actual hopes of Issus ever being anything more than a pushover at this point, but my tricky items can only extend his life so far so drop me a line if you're holding lessons at some point and I'll come check it out.

Just curious, but is there a good reason to start now rather than waiting for 3.0?

I want to learn to PVP in general but have been putting it off for this reason.

Eh, not really a good reason, other than getting over the PvP shakes ahead of time :P

I'd be interested, I'm no where near great or wonderful or anything of that nature. But if it means improving my general PvP skills (which are nonexistent) and getting some roleplay to boot, I'd love this opportunity. I love getting the chance to fight with folks, but more often than not I depend on raw skill than even trying to figure out what enchante (let alone chain of enchantes) to use since I'm just so ignorant about how to Bard PvP.

Awesome! Well if you're interested and have AIM, feel free to contact me at Stigma21215 and we can set something up. Or if you'd prefer you can track me down in game -- I'm usually in the Black Spire or on M'riss :P

Leilond's academy? sounds like a good idea. Siltoth ain't the type but I hope you get a nice share of bards to work with you.
Now all we're missing is a lorekeeper to pull the strings... hmm...
