Leaving the pit 04/15/2007 08:40 PM CDT
Is there some way we could get some extra messaging if we tried to leave the pit? There's been a few times where I've waited inside the pit for eternity and was in fear of leaving right when the person walked in.

Could it be something like...

>go port
Are you sure you want to leave the pit?

Then on the outside the person can't enter and get a message like:

>go port
Vinjince appears to be about to exit the pit.

Small request, I know... but still.

Unless it changed with the recent fixes, leaving an empty pit doesn't affect your points, only leaving when you have a challenger does. Granted, I've not left except in a body bag or victorious in a while.

Right, that is what he is saying.

If you type "go port" and just as you hit the enter key some person walks in...you just lost ~400 points.

Actually, you just lost half your points.

I'll see about adding a check the next go round on the pit coding, but that may not be for a while. If something like this does happen, you should assist and we'll check into it.

Ouch, half? Good thing I always try to make sure my opponent goes in first and then follow immediately after.

Ok, good. I almost did that the other night... was waiting for awhile and the second I stepped out the person walked in.
