Re: Eagle and HT 09/13/2011 07:58 PM CDT
I have been carrying a backtube full of spears since I began using HT, both for training and PvP.

I find that if I can hit with the spears, I am usually a lock to win the fight. If I cannot, I might as well consider them a distraction and use other methods.

HT and Halberds for the win.

OP here, just wanting to chime in that I'm also doing the spear-chugging method around. Though I easily have the strength to throw the long spears, I found the shorter javelins and light spears to be easier to hold.

>>You are certain that it could do:
>> heavy (9/25) puncture damage
>> somewhat fair (4/25) slice damage
>> low (3/25) impact damage

>>You are certain that the javelin is well (9/13) balanced and is inadequately (4/13) suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

>>You are certain that the steel javelin is somewhat unsound against damage (6/18), and is in pristine condition.

>>You are certain that the steel javelin weighs exactly 25 stones.

This is unbalanced (as in the technique), and list greater balance than what forged throwing daggers can pull off while looking at the list I have. Even so I was still having trouble hitting a guy with equal shield to my HT with Eagle up, prompting this whole thread.

Wolfegard quietly says, "I got hitched in a tree."
Moving carefully, you slip your hand into Wolfegard's pockets and carefully grab a gold wedding band.

I was just goint to post that very thing, here is balanced version:

A steel javelin is a heavy thrown and pike melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
heavy puncture damage
somewhat fair slice damage
low impact damage

You are certain that the javelin is excellently balanced and is poorly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the steel javelin is somewhat unsound against damage, and is in pristine condition.

The steel javelin is made with metal.
You are certain that the steel javelin weighs exactly 25 stones.
You are certain that the steel javelin is worth exactly 3000 dokoras.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.
