I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a "feature" of the new combat.

In the regular instances in combat, if you type out any type of "attack" verb <circle, attack, slice, jab, etc>, you start to advance on the critter. In test I noticed that you actually had to type out ADV to advance on the critter. With the THROWN weapons, you had to throw <nameofweapon> at <nameofcritter> rather than just "throw".
