Quick question before I test this: Does this apply to current charges or does it only apply to charges earned since the change?

I'm trying to remember how the system stores the data. I think it will just be new charges.

Okay, here's my quick testing, all tests done in succession in the order listed:

Two charges of endangering the public, plead guilty: 9300 kronar (4650 per charge)
One charge of endangering the public, plead guilty: 4444 kronar (ha, cool number!)
One charge of endangering the public, failed at plead innocent: 8364 kronar
Twelve charges of endangering the public, failed at plead innocent: 126327 kronar (10527 per charge)
One charge of endangering the public, success at plead innocent: 0 kronar
Two charges of endangering the public, failed at plead innocent: 19588 kronar (9794 per charge)
One charge of endangering the public, success at plead innocent: 0 kronar
One charge of endangering the public, failure at plead innocent: 9840 kronar
One charge of endangering the public, plead guilty: 5324 kronar

Fun fact: During this test I managed to get Thievery to 22/34 and gained 17% of a rank before the end of it just from the check to avoid the guard's attention. It still has to drain fully.

Also, one quirk to being charged by cyclic spell casting is that I literally could not avoid 2 charges for starting it in town. It was impossible to avoid the charge on the first pulse because it happened before the roundtime from the cast was up. In order to get a single charge I had to cast outside of town and go inside for a pulse. Is there any way to mitigate this, since it isn't really a user error but a system mechanics error?

You give sudden voice to the warm chanting in your thoughts, as you release an accompaniment of elemental fire into the piece. The opening syllables quickly intensify into a more savage theme.
A sudden shout of "The man's dangerous!" heralds a nearby citizen to run for the guards. It won't be long before the Crossing authorities will try to bring you in for endangering the public.

With barely a pause for breath, you neatly segue to the verse of the Phoenix's Pyre. Your skin warms tangibly as you bite off each of the words with a fierceness that seems to incite the very air around you to anger as flames are born to ride the heated currents.
