Treasure Deed 10/12/2012 05:30 PM CDT

A nice addition to the treasure system and similar to a treasure map could be a mining claim. This piece of paper would grant mineral rights for a single area for the duration of one vein of material. These would not have to be in established mines and could be scattered across Elanthia like treasure map locations.

A crumpled dirty deed.

LOOK DEED- Dispite it's condition the deed remains clearly legible.

READ DEED- The bearer of this deed owns all mineral rights to the BLACK PAW MINE located on the map below. (Map locations similar to treasure maps).

Once the mine is located it can be dug like any other mine with any number of miners. All the hazards are in effect and mines could be placed in serious hunting grounds. Treasure deed mines will posess rare materials but disappear after the mine runs dry or collapses.

Not really in the spirit of the system; it's too variable, moderately worthless, too short duration (one vein?) etc.

Plus it opens up the whole 'I own this mine' can of worms and a lot of other griefing.

Adding nothing to the conversation since 1834.

I disagree, if done right, I think that could be pretty nice.

That could actually be pretty cool. In regards to the "I own this mine" business, the deed could open up a temporary mine - Someplace that normally wouldn't be an option. Perhaps rather than "ownership" of Blackpaw Mine, it would simply be a map to a mineral discovery. Said map ends up a small vein of material found on the side of a hill. Would still require you mine it, but once your done, its done. Since finding the map would already be a rare occurrence, perhaps then the veins could be 'rare' vein - anything from silver up.

Yep ,I think it's cool idea. Though I'd be really bummed about silver, to be honest.

Silver, while very useful, is not rare like gold, electrum, darkstone, etc.

I think it sounds pretty neat. Modest chance for normal-sized rare vein (gold, plat, darkstone, etc.), small chance for small rare vein (kertig, glaes, etc), very small chance for several volumes of unique material (silversteel, vardite, icesteel, etc.)
