Why infer? The whole story line was well laid out over a long period of time. Snow had to be romanced by Cialen over a period of time to convince her to refuse her arranged marriage, much to the dismay of her family when they found out she had decided to marry a Human. It all culminated in a wedding ceremony that players could attend as an event.

It's a little too late to try to go back and say "But this doesn't mean anything!"
