Sail commands not working 03/21/2009 10:58 AM CDT
Both sail commands for my ship are not working. Whenever I ask my pilot to SAIL FOR or to SAIL TOWARDS, I get the menu as if I entered in an invalid command. All other commands seem to work okay. Ship account has plenty of money so it shouldn't be that. Has anyone else noticed this or experienced this in the past?

Did you COMMAND or ASK?

I did Command. Any other command I do works just fine, but the two sailing commands do not. I had some GMs helping me on it earlier and they said they think they might know the source of the problem but are unable to fix it at the time. In the meantime, I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.

I believe COMMAND was rewritten recently.

>command achupfo to sail for aesry
Pilot Achupfo says, "Very well, Master, I will pilot the Nightblade's Claw to the main harbor of Surlaenis island."
Pilot Achupfo says, "We launch in 2 minutes."

my ships master is a cleric, is your ships master a moonmage? maybe the "command" is getting mixed up?

The GM who was helping me out told me that the problem was probably associated with the COMMAND verb.

<<my ships master is a cleric, is your ships master a moonmage? maybe the "command" is getting mixed up?

Hmm.. now that you mentioned that, I did notice something. Both the captain and ship's master are rangers and the sailing commands will not work for either of us. However, the ship's mate is an empath and the commands do work for her. We also reassigned the mate position to a moon mage and he was able to get the sailing commands to work as well.

So maybe it's a ranger thing? Are there any other ranger ship owners having problems?

Okay, we just assigned another ranger to the ship's mate and she was able to give commands just fine, so I guess it's not a ranger thing.

The only other oddity I can think of off the top of my head is that maybe we became broken when we went to the ranger meeting last week. We took the normal meeting portal from Aesry to the ampitheater in the Crossing and from there we took a portal to the ranger meeting at the Boar Clan guildhall. After the meeting was over, we were able to take the portal back to the Crossing, but we were unable to re-enter the one to take us back to Aesry.

My guess is that going to the boar clan portal untagged us from the Aesry portal, but I'm not sure how this would relate to our ship problems... unless there is some echo from the Aesry portal lingering over us that's causing this to happen. Anyways, just more info in case it could help.

So with that said, are there any ranger ship owners who double-portaled to the meeting last week who are experiencing the same ship problems?

maybe its a companion thing? even though the companion verb is "signal", maybe something is getting mixed up?
