Zoluren, 3500 kronars per month.

Only one that I know of is reduced ferry fees to Leth.

Actually, there is no fee at all on the Leth ferry for Zoluren citizens (without horses/caravans/etc.). The "starting prices" in shops in (at least) Crossing are also reduced for citizens, and you can be notified when the Skirr'lolasu docks.

Ratha offers their lifts free for citizens, and notification when ships dock. I'd guess the prices in shops also start lower (as they may for any of the areas' citizens).

Aesry offers ship dock notification. Think there's a badge too? Not sure.

Shard lets you through any of the city gates any time of the day, and has a citizenship tent/shop.

Riverhaven has reduced ferry/barge fares (not sure if any of them are free), and notification when the Kree'la/Lybadel dock.

I'm not sure of special perks on any of the other areas, but it seems safe to say that notification of ships docking and the price reduction in shops apply across the board.

In Shard there are citizen-only shops, and one can use any gate at all to go into town at night. In Theren there are also citizen only shops, citizens can get discounts on some merchandise, the ferry and barge fees are halved, and one can use the drawbridge to get into the Keep at night.

I'm not sure of any perks for being a citizen of Velaka (Muspar'i), but it's 5000 lirum to apply, 4500 a month.

It's currently bugged so that the debt is to Therengia, however, despite Muspar'i being a separate kingdom. Don't need to take coins with you when you apply for citizenship, it'll just add to your debt regardless (even if you have them on hand).

Mebbe it's bugged cuz there are currently on 4 provinces right now.. Muspar'i is closest to the Therengia province so it falls under that debt? That would be my guess until P5 opens.

Questions re: Theren Citizenship 04/23/2004 04:49 AM CDT
As a new and duly designated citizen of the Province of Therengia, I would like to know:

1) Where the citizen-only stores are OR what I can ask the clerk to find out?
2) Where have all the uniforms gone? The box would appear to be empty.
3) Is there anything else super-neato people can tell me, or tell me to ask the clerk about?

Thank you in advance,

>>1) Where the citizen-only stores are OR what I can ask the clerk to find out?

There is a citizen-only room in the hat shop in the market square of Therenborough, and Telomin Hall is citizen-only. It has a library and a sideboard where one may obtain free food and drink. I'm not sure where the citizen-only places are in Riverhaven, if there are any.

>>3) Is there anything else super-neato people can tell me, or tell me to ask the clerk about?

You'll find that your ferry and barge fares are half-price, that as a rule you can obtain lower prices in most stores than a non-citizen can, and that if you wish to enter Theren Keep at night you can use the drawbridge. You don't have to go swimming. You might want to ask the clerk about titles, and the barge men and ferrymen will give you a special acknowledgement as you board.

The uniforms have to periodically reset. Do an assist and the GM/GH will take care of that for you.

There are four uniform bins in Theren, one in Haven, one in Lang, one in the citizen office (Theren Infantry) and one in the keep stables (Theren Cavalry).

Mr. Clerk in Aesry says:

The clerk says, "It looks like you're already a citizen of Ilithi. If you want to become a citizen here you must first journey to Ilithi and renounce your loyalty. Good day."

I just made the trip to Shard to clean the bank and vault and could have sworn Shard citizenship got removed with the debt. Do I have to go all the way back or can a higher-up assist?

Attn Paklin - My Citizenship Oops 06/19/2004 09:46 PM CDT
I spoke with a GameHost about this a few moments ago, and he directed me to post here for Paklin to see.

I've been a citizen of Ilithi for about a year and a quarter. Around a week ago, I got sick of supporting the new Outcast government with "taxes," so I renounced my citizenship. Had I any idea that this change was going to happen, I would have never done that. Is there any way I can have my "old style" citizenship restored please? I've been banging my head against the wall about this all day.

Thank you!

Old Ilithi Citizenship 06/25/2004 11:53 AM CDT
I'd like to ask about 'Ilithi Citizenship' as opposed to 'Shard Citizenship'. As it is Ithlia doesn't pay taxes, doesn't have any citizenship perks, as she is now locked out of Vaalrin House and the citizenship tent. Yet she would still have to pay and wait if she wants to cancel her apparently non-existent citizenship and wait a month to join else where.

So what I'd like to ask is... is there any reason for her to retain her old citizenship? Are there plans for a citizenship office elsewhere in Ilithi? Will there be perks for those that hung on to their old citizenship?

As I understood it the Outcasts only have control of the city of Shard, not the entire province. However the way things are now they seem to control the entire province. Their checkpoint restricts access to most of the province. Their citizenship has replaced that of the province.

I'm not complaining here at all. This is the way it is and I'm willing to play along. Its just that I'm confused. My character is really confused and feeling very displaced. It would be nice to be able to get her settled again with a 'home'. As it is now she's just wandering around. heh

Thanks for reading and any insight as to what, if anything, is planned for Ilithi citizenship would be great!

I was asked to put the following up for Rufia

She's a subject of the Ferdahl. I understand both citizens of Shard and those that are subject to the ferdahl are supposed to have access to the citizen shop <tent> in shard. Yet she could not enter it. The GM that handles this wasn't on at the time so the one who came for the assist wasn't able to answer. thanks.

Zoluren -- free ferry fare. This doesn't really seem like all that much, but it sure comes in handy when you don't have to run ALL the way back to Crossings or Leth because you forgot your fare money or had it swiped (or if you happened to die). It used to be a real problem for me.

There's also, you know. The sense of civic pride and patriotism your character gets from knowing they are well and truly a citizen of their home province rather than just a loafer in it.

What you get for your taxes pretty much depends upon where you pay 'em. I didn't see your original post, so I don't know what area you're talking about.

Some places have better/more benefits than others, although that can be a subjective judgment, too.

Well, this brings up an interesting question. What perks are there?

The ones I know of...

Theren allows you entrance to the keep at night (I personally hate that, as a cleric I used to be able to get in regardless of day/night... no longer)

M'riss allows you to travel the ferry from ?Leth?

That's all I know of.

ilithi theres a shop in shard thats only for their citizens, they used to be able to enter shard at night - but the gates went down during the outcast occupation.

aesry theres a few rooms in the crystal inn you can get into.

theren there's the keep and you also get discount on riding the ferrys and barge between riverhaven and crocs/ and riverhaven & lang

zoluren its free ferry between xing and leth.

rathans can ride the lifts for free <even though most people cut thru the sewers to get to the different tiers>

m'riss/mer'kesh you get free rides on the ferry between m'riss and mer'kesh. and you can ride the deegan between m'riss and leth deriel.

velaka <muspar'I> citizens right now receive no benefits, and no discount on rides in theren, even though we can pay our dues in therengian debt offices.

I wish the gate keepers would stop making snide comments about my animals since my charactor is a citizen. For that matter how does a simple soldier know that my charactor is a warrior mage? he wears heavy plate and dresses like a paladin basically. Heck I had a female thief the other day assume that he was a paladin actually. (In regards to Theren Keep)

Citizenship for Throne City and others 03/13/2006 02:32 PM CST
I know this has been mentioned many times before, but I thought I'd bring it up... again. ;)

Are there any plans to offer citizenship to locales, such as cities, clans, towns, etc.?

Qi'Reshalia has many different citizenship offers, and Therengia has two(Velaka), which has been explained as being due to the different governments involved in each area. I was thinking, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, that perhaps since Throne City is generally recognized as being a seperate entity from Therengia that it could have its own citizenship opportunities.

I know I'm not the only one that has tried using Therengian citizenship to feel like a citizen of Throne, and it just doesn't pan out. Most folks that I know that went this route eventually dropped it. I know I only kept mine for all of a week. While I'm suggesting it, maybe there could be a Moon Mage set up to activate the turtle gate for citizens of Throne to be able to use when a moon is up. :)

Well the Moon Mage guild and the fellow named Fade seem to be the ones in authority of Throne City; however, as far as criminal actions go I believe they fall under Riverhaven (just to give you some ideas). But I don't have an exact 100% answer to your question. From an OOC perspective, the MM team owns Throne I believe, so I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Throne is owned by the MM guild since Taramaine and what's left of the council is still established there; however, it is in the Therengian province and the Baron seems to rule most of that.
