Okay. I've known about the Frozen Dead Guy days up in Nederland for a while now. Now, my roommate has found out about the Headless Chicken Festival out in Fruita.

So I'm wondering just how many other wierd festivals/celebrations are out there in this state. Anyone care to shed light on the subject? Or willing to admit publicly that they know anything about this subject and risk public ridicule?

Heyo!

I live in Western Colorado, not at all far from Fruita. Yes, I am quite familiar with Mike the Headless Chicken Day. Yes, it's as corny as it sounds, but the story behind the celebration is certainly fascinating if a bit morbid!

Yeah, that one is still around. I know the local museum celebrates that one as well, but that's not surprising since they have the gun he used. Small museums will do anything to get all the publicity they can!

Didn't Vail have 'Bob the Bridge' day? I'm pretty sure they had some special parade and party for a bridge. Course 14 years in Summit County did alot of things to me but remembering the little festivals wasn't one of them. heh, now i miss colorado.
