The day has come and we will officially be moving over to the Simutronics servers. Once we're sure that we have everything running smoothly, the old address will be removed.

Possible Bug: Load time's a little slow compared to the old site. I don't know whether that's because it's not ready for prime time yet or because it's trying to establish a secure connection or what. Just thought I'd report.
Either way, WOOOO getting work done.

Messing with those IGNORE AUTHOR people, eh?
Also rather slow load times on the new play.net spot. For me, at least.

Heh, the slow load time is due to the fact I have to manually export/import a ton of pages that didn't make it over on their own. This will be fixed once I get everything moved over.

Your sense of loss may be ameliorated by the fact that you just added a product of equal value as any other game department (development, customer service, etc.)
Olwydd and Sablina contributed in priceless ways - but neither come close to Elanthipedia.
That's a real achievement for everyone who contributed.

Just because I saw that the Platinum Festival stuff isn't in there yet, should I hold off trying to copy that stuff page by page for now?
Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

It seems to be going faster now. Updated my guide over there without a hitch.

Okay, at this time, please do not edit any existing pages on the new server, some still need to be moved over and there's a decent chance they'll just overwrite any changes you make.
Brand new pages should, in theory, be safe.

What sense of loss? I'm more proud than I can put in words, of myself, my staff, all the previous staffs, and everyone has contributed over the years.
And just to make sure there is no confusion, this is NOT Simutronics taking over Elanthipedia. This is a partnership, where they provide the technical support and we provide the continued staffing and updating. Beyond who's got the code, not much will be changing.
It's a great deal for both sides. We get stable technical aspects (thanks to everyone who hosted before, it's just bigger than pretty much anyone knew), and they get not only the documentation, but now that they can be reasonably sure it's not going to up and vanish, there is some serious talk of more integrating the site more into the game itself.
The is in no way an ending to anything, but a new beginning that I can't wait to see happen. And as long as I can be, I plan to hitch a ride.

I just went to the new location and bookmarked it. In fact, I had to use it earlier today because I had gotten lost!

Oops. Saw this after I had edited a page. I'll watch it so if it goes poof I can redo the edit.
In the meantime, could you update the site notice to reflect the non-edit status, and when it's good to go update it again? Currently it's showing the old cache problem notice.

Since Elanthipedia is being moved and becoming new and improved, any chance the Bestiary list can be updated to fit critter tweaks and the new learning curve from 3.0?

Honestly I'm not sure it would be useful. If watching the Elanthipedia list has taught me anything, it's that the critters often are vastly different than their pure stats might indicate.

IMO it would be incredibly useful if Solomon (or whoever) gave the green light for a GM to provide what they see critter ranges as.
You know, because it's not like GMs have other things to do.
But it would be really useful.

I have no issues with this, but like you said, I think the GMs who have the best knowledge about those levels are currently eyebrow-deep in 3.1 stuff.

Knowing I can eventually try to bug someone for that kind of data dump is appreciated!
