DisneyCon 08/04/2005 05:48 PM CDT
Posting this for Augie, the GS4 player who's putting this all together:

Hi everyone!

I know it's been some time since I've written info on DisneyCon. That's because I was working hard getting the contract wrapped up and ready to go. And now, it's official!!!

The dates for the first ever DisneyCon at the Walt Disney World Resort in sunny Orlando, Florida will be October 6 through October 9th 2005!

We will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. I can email a brochure of the resort to anyone who would like it, or you can visit the website at:
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortLanding?id=PortOrleansFrenchQuarterResort

The best part about this resort is it is located in the Downtown Disney area and has transportation to the parks via Bus AND Water Launch. That means we can take the boat to and from Downtown Disney without worrying about anyone driving home after drinking! And it is MUCH more convenient than the bus system!

The pricing for the rooms will be $99 per night plus 11.5% tax.

The block itself is reserved from Oct 6 ? Oct 9, but you have the opportunity to reserve rooms at the Group rate for three days before or three days after the block date (based on availability). Hotel check in time is after 3:00pm and check out time is before 11:00am.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM:
You will need to call 407*-*938*-*4868 to reserve your room. Tell them you are with the "DisneyCon" block and give them the Group# G0444808 (those are Zeros).

Once you have reserved your room, please send me an email at DisneyCon@gmail.com and tell me 1) your name 2) your character name 3) what game you play 4) the number of people staying in your room 5) your email address that you want to be contacted at, so I can add you to the list of confirmed attendees and plan activities around that.

Now, next we will go to the park hopper tickets.

There are 2 day and 3 day park hopper passes available. They are given to us at a discounted rate as long as we book 10 rooms. I figure that we can go to Magic Kingdom and possibly Epcot center during our stay. Magic Kingdom is always a hit, and Epcot will be having their food and wine fest in October so that's a great way to have food and drinks from all around the world!

Here is the breakdown for the passes:

2 DAY PARK HOPPER PASS
You get 2 full days of park hopping (moving between all 4 Disney theme parks)
1 complimentary entrance to either Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest
Ages 10 and up: $108.00 Ages 3 ~ 9: $86.00 Under 3 ~ Free

3 DAY PARK HOPPER PASS
You get 3 full days of park hopping (moving between all 4 Disney theme parks)
1 complimentary entrance to either Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest
Ages 10 and up: $162.00 Ages 3 ~ 9: $130.00 Under 3 ~ Free

The web address to reserve tickets will be coming shortly (I am waiting for a Disney representative to give me that information, but wanted to give you all a basic idea of how much tickets will be).

If you have any questions about DisneyCon, please email me at DisneyCon@gmail.com and I'll do my best to answer it. Feel free to send this information off to your friends so they can tell me if they are interested. This is open to anyone and everyone who would like to join us!
