Splintering this thread off because pizza.

My favorite pizzas were when I lived in Scandinavia, where most pizzas were what Americans might call thin crust and made in wood-fire ovens.

1. Mini shrimp (popcorn shrimp sized without the bread it that tasted a little sweet) and canned tuna surprised me how much I loved this. The tuna added some texture and background flavor while the shrimp was in the foreground.

2. Gyro pizza. Bake a cheese pizza with gyro/kebab. When it comes out of the oven, top it with lettuce, onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce. It was really just an open-face gyro sandwich on freshly made bread. I loved it.

Love the Gyro pizza idea! I am going to have to try that at home.

For years I loved "heavy on the meat" pizzas, until I actually went to Italy and tried a few of their classics. One of my favorites here now is Proscuitto and Goat Cheese pizza.

I got the sense it's very meat-centered. That a fair assessment? The base seems a lot like what I found in northern Europe - a thin crust, personal pizza style.

I like the looks of the one with the eggs on top. I'm going to try that the next time I make pizza.
