Heavy plate greaves have less protection than other heavy plate 03/31/2017 10:42 AM CDT
Last night I was making a set of heavy plate armor for a paladin out of weighted steel (67% high carbon steel, 33% platinum, 6.32 density). I used one ingot for the entire suit, so there was no difference in the material. All pieces were masterfully-crafted.

The protection on the heavy plate greaves was less than any other heavy plate template that I made (cuirass, vambraces, gauntlets, and great helm). Usually protection is identical between any piece of "heavy plate" out of the same metal, so I'm wondering if this might be a bug?

For comparison, I've highlighted the appraised differences:

Template Modification Puncture Protection Slice Protection Impact Protection Electrical Protection Density
great helm none 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate cuirass none 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate gauntlets none 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate greaves none 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 2 - low 6.32
heavy plate vambraes none 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 3 - fair 6.32
great helm reinforced 9 - great 9 - great 8 - very high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate cuirass reinforced 9 - great 9 - great 8 - very high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate gauntlets reinforced 9 - great 9 - great 8 - very high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate greaves reinforced 8 - very high 9 - great 7 - high 3 - fair 6.32
heavy plate vambraces reinforced 9 - great 9 - great 8 - very high 3 - fair 6.32
