Sorcerers vs Starcrasher 10/10/2018 11:15 AM CDT
You move to hunt down your prey.

[The Crossing, Varlet's Run]
You happen upon a shadowy street corner, within leaping distance of the riverbank for a quick getaway via the River Oxenwaithe or a fast dart into the murky underpinnings of Oxenwaithe Bridge. The lack of illumination also serves to protect the identities of the customers of the small, dimly-lit shop by the side of the road.
You also see a town guard and a tiny maddened starcrasher.
Also here: Wanderer Kelneth.
Obvious paths: north, southeast, west.
Roundtime: 2 sec.

A flying cyclopean crystal shatters against your round sipar.

The maddened starcrasher leaps from hiding and ambushes Kelneth!
A tiny maddened starcrasher flails a segmented leg at Kelneth.

Kelneth says, "Need a cleric."

You draw out your bastard sword from the leather sheath, gripping it firmly in your right hand and balancing with your left.

You notice as a storm-grey cat with gold-flecked crystal blue eyes prances into the area.

You say, "I'll take him down, if I can."

You trace a geometric sigil in the air, shaping the pattern of the Fortress of Ice spell.

A tiny maddened starcrasher bends its legs into an angular, arcane gesture.
Bright points with luminous tails arise out of the air above the maddened starcrasher, flung in descending arcs.

Yvela just arrived.

Yvela joins your group.

Kelneth says, "The maddened ones are cursed, if I remember correctly."

The guard searches the area with a wary eye.

You gesture.
Four pillars of silvery-blue light form at the cardinal points around you, filling the air with the lethal cold of deep winter. They begin spinning, casting off a glowing blue mist that quickly forms into solid walls.
You quickly realize that you are enclosed within the walls, separated from the rest of the area.
You are now within the Fortress!

You trace a geometric sigil in the air, shaping the pattern of the Aethrolysis spell. Casting rationality aside, you prepare to yoke unseen mana streams to fuel your sorcery.
You turn to face a small maddened starcrasher.
You begin to weave mana lines into a target pattern around a small maddened starcrasher.

A small maddened starcrasher clambers forward to thrash at Yvela.

Yvela gestures.
Yvela's cambrinth armband emits a loud snap.
Yvela's cambrinth orb emits a loud snap.
A crimson mist briefly appears around Yvela's arms.

The maddened starcrasher leaps from hiding and ambushes Yvela!
A small maddened starcrasher scissors a pair of its legs at Yvela.

Your fingerbones phosphoresce hylomorphic blue as you gesture at a small maddened starcrasher.
Your sorcery cuts through the extraplanar interference!

The starcrasher appears dissociated and muddled for a moment, somehow different.

Drops of tarnished, metallic blue liquid fall sideways toward the starcrasher.
Before they can reach the starcrasher, the drops lose cohesion and fizzle away.

Emotional pain and exhaustion lingers in your mind, even after you regain rational control.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Yvela says, "Interesting strategy."

You get a leather-bound black book inlaid with gold arcane symbols from inside your storyteller's bag.

Skillfully, you lob a leather-bound black book inlaid with gold arcane symbols at a small starcrasher. A small starcrasher barely fails to block with prismatic legs.
The book lands a hard hit (5/23) to the starcrasher body.
The black book falls to the ground!
[You're incredibly balanced and overwhelming opponent.]
[Roundtime 2 sec.]

You put your book in your storyteller's bag.

Moving with dominating grace, you charge a haralun bastard sword at a small starcrasher. A small starcrasher fails to evade, only slightly avoiding the blow.
The sword lands a heavy strike (7/23) to the starcrasher body.
[You're winded, incredibly balanced and overwhelming opponent.]
[Roundtime 7 sec.]

A small starcrasher bends its legs into an angular, arcane gesture.
Bright points with luminous tails arise out of the air above the starcrasher, flung in descending arcs.

A flying crystal pebble shatters against your round sipar.
The air around Yvela solidifies into a pale yellow haze and throws off bright waves of light as it resists the attack.
A crystal pebble flies by at a tangent to Yvela, icing her back.

You grin at Yvela.

Yvela chuckles.

Yvela lazily waves her hand about as she quietly hums a catchy tune.
Yvela begins to focus intently on a small starcrasher.

You trace a geometric sigil in the air, shaping the pattern of the Fire Ball spell.
You begin to weave mana lines into a target pattern around a small starcrasher.

Yvela cups her hand before thrusting her palm up and out in a slapping motion at a small starcrasher!
Yvela's cambrinth armband emits a loud snap.
Angry hissing accompanies green-hued liquid spraying forth from Yvela's palm to form a viridian glob that quickly leaps towards a small starcrasher.
The starcrasher blocks the viridian globe with its prismatic legs, sending a spray of sizzling mist up into the air.

You gesture at a small starcrasher.
A small ball of flame flies at a small starcrasher!
The fireball glances off a small starcrasher's prismatic legs.
The fireball explodes against its leg, the intense heat breaking clear bones and boiling the marrow as the flesh melts away.
The complementary nature of the spell empowers you.
A small starcrasher curls up motionless.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

[The Crossing, Varlet's Run, Ice Fortress]
Jagged walls of ice surround a large square of land, their pristine white purity marred in places by faint blue highlights.
You also see a storm-grey cat with gold-flecked crystal blue eyes and a small starcrasher which appears dead.
Also here: Yvela.
Obvious paths: out.

You sheathe the bastard sword in your leather sheath.

As you approach the wall, small steps break away from the rest of the ice, allowing you to easily climb up and over. On the other side, similar stairs form to aid you. When you reach the bottom, the stairs fade back into the wall.

Yvela appears, climbing swiftly over the Fortress wall as stairs appear to aid her. When she reaches the bottom, the stairs fade back into the wall.

Kelneth asks, "How are you killing it without a cleric?"

You say, "Sorcery."

Kelneth chuckles.

You grin.

The exterior of an Ice Fortress collapses and melts away.
