Today was quite the interesting day to say the least. Many were anxious and hopeful for the Baron's return to name his Military Advisor as he indicated in the previous audience. Baron Gyfford promptly summoned those that were gathered with great anticipation in His Graces Great Hall to the Dias. Several areas were addressed, I admit, my heart was racing and I was a bit distracted with thoughts of what it might be like to be names as his Military Advisor! The notes that I did take away from the audience are as follows:

Northern Watch Continuance: The merger between then Northern Watch and the Theren Guard fell through. The brigade met and decided that if the Baron would grant us continuance as the Northern Watch, we would be much appreciative of this option. The Baron kindly granted his blessing, the Northern Watch will stay banded together.

Champion Klurn: The Baron revived a previous position that has been vacant for sometime, that being the role of the Champion. Baron Gyfford asked Klurn if he would accept such a position and be the Champion for Lady Athelisa. Klurn pledged his sword and accepted the role.

Military Advisor: The Baron then looked at me and said "Ternith, I'm appointing you as my Military Advisor." I pledged my heart, mind, and sword to the Baron and accepted the role. Looks like I'll be replacing my commanders log tome with a new tome!


Following the audience, Kenamer reported seeing Orcs in Viggu's Lair and shortly after Orcs were storming the streets. It was another mighty battle, but the TG and NW moved swiftly into action, men were posted in strategic locations reporting information back periodically, triage was setup and aiding the fallen, warriors from other provinces traveled up to aid in defending the lands. It was an invigorating and marvelous scene! Thanks to everyone pulling together and the strengths presented during the invasion, many orcs were killed while others ran off out of the province.

[Theren Keep, Dais]
A few steps or so above the polished marble deck, this raised platform nevertheless grants a commanding presence over the great hall. Glowing braziers flank the Baron's throne, infiltrating the chamber with feeble, reddish light and the pungent smell of burning herbs. Gazing downwards, the hall seems barren and quiet despite its restoration, mourning the ancestral knights, ladies, battle songs, and ballads that echoed through the keep so long ago.

You nod.
You say, "Indeed."
Gyfford asks, "How's the merger coming along?"
You say, "The merger.."
Gyfford nods.
You say, "It did not happen M'lord."
Gyfford frowns.
You say, "There were some issues that sprung up at the last rois."
Gyfford asks, "What issues were those?"
Gyfford says, "I thought everyone was on board with it."
You say, "It did seem that way, but there was a change in the process."
Gyfford says, "I see."
You say, "I did not want to risk leaving any of my men behind."
Gyfford nods.
Gyfford says, "Well that's a shame."
You nod in agreement.
You ask, "We would like to keep the brigade together if you would be so willing?"
Gyfford says, "It happens."
You angle your ears forward in curiosity.
Gyfford says, "Very well."
Gyfford nods to you.
You bow to Gyfford.
You say, "We all thank you very much for your blessing on that."
Gyfford says, "I'm hoping at some point this could happen."

Rekon (NW, Deputy Commander) carefully removes a viridian spider with mottled clean white stripes running end to end from his shoulder.
Gyfford nods to Rairken (TG, Council).
Gyfford says, "Proceed."
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "I believe there was some confusion on in which the merger would happen and the voting process."
Gyfford asks, "And?"
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "In which that we would vote for each member of the Northern Watch versus the brigade all together. They are a tight unit and I wouldn't expect that from my people coming into another unit either."
Gyfford nods to Rairken (TG, Council).
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "I believe there may have been some confusion in which the process would be placed out and unfortunately I had been gone."
Gyfford says, "I see."
Gyfford says, "Thank you for clarifying."
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "Being the recruiting officer I believe with some more discussion and explained process to both sides this could very well be the best unified unit of the North for you my grace."
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "Klurn (Cav, Commander) wishes to speak on this if you may hear his word."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "'thonks milord."
Gyfford nods to Klurn (Cav, Commander).
Rairken (TG, Council) bows to Gyfford.
Gyfford says, "Proceed."
Rairken (TG, Council) nods to Klurn (Cav, Commander).
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Milord i apologize for our first meetingwith the Watch as we have to them."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "We made amends and agrred on council to accept them into our order without a vote."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Was a miscommunication."
Gyfford says, "Interesting, that doesn't seem to be what the Watch understood."
Gyfford says, "So yes, perhaps a miscommunication."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "But they chose to pursue their own path for now much to my regret."
Gyfford nods to Klurn (Cav, Commander).
Gyfford says, "Fair enough."
You say, "Somni and I have spoke, but I can assure you that nobody has followed and said anything to my men."
Gyfford gazes at Klurn (Cav, Commander).
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "We remedied the issues with a few ill placed word by our folk and ofr that we do apologise."
Gyfford gazes at you.
Gyfford gives a slight nod.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Not more we can do but leave the door open Milord."
Gyfford nods in agreement.
Gyfford says, "Sounds fair."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "I hope so."
Gyfford says, "I've been thinking about the position of Military Advisor."
Gyfford says, "But I have another concern that I'd like to address first."
Gyfford says to Klurn (Cav, Commander), "One I'm hoping you can help me with."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) asks, "Me sir?"
Gyfford says to Klurn (Cav, Commander), "Yes, you, Klurn (Cav, Commander)."
Gyfford chuckles.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) scratches his head.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Uh oh."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) asks, "Yes sir?"
Gyfford says to Klurn (Cav, Commander), "I'd like you to be the Champion for m'Lady Athelisa."
Gyfford says, "If you're so willing."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) asks, "A Barbariian?"
Ripa smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
You blink.
Rekon (NW, Deputy Commander) smiles.
Vykanthiss (NW) grins.
Gyfford gazes at Klurn (Cav, Commander).
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Aye as you wish Milord i love the Lady as i do the Throne."
Gyfford says to Klurn (Cav, Commander), "Does your loyalty sway based on guild, sir? Maybe I've made a mistake."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "I offer my sword to her."
Gyfford says, "Ahh good."

Gyfford says, "Thank you, Klurn (Cav, Commander)."
Rairken (TG, Council) smiles.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) bows to Gyfford.
Kenamer shifts his weight.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "You are more than welcome Milord."
Gyfford says, "Now then...."
Gyfford says, "On the matter of Military Advisor."

Gyfford says, "Any man who would stand for ALL of his men, not wanting anyone to be left behind is exactly what I want to see in a Military Advisor."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) nods.
Flayra smiles.
You nod.
Gyfford says, "And I trust that he will work with everyone that serves."
Bertan (NW, Officer) nods.

Vykanthiss (NW) grins.
Gyfford says, "I'm sorry, but I didn't have time to have badges made. You'll have to forgive me, which means I'll have to speak to you again."
Gyfford chuckles.
You say, "I pleade to you my heart, mind, and sword your grace."
You nod.

Gyfford says, "You both have my thanks, and I cannot stress the importance of both jobs."
Gyfford says, "My Lady will be coming to Theren again in the near future."

Ripa smiles at Gyfford, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
Gyfford mutters something into the air about being stubborn as she is.
Gyfford coughs.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "I'll be here for her Sir."
Rairken (TG, Council) grins.
Rekon (NW, Deputy Commander) appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Gyfford says, "And I'm going to have to ensure her safety."

Gyfford says, "All military orders and matters will be brought to Advisor Ternith (NW, Commander), who will in turn either bring those to all of you, or bring your concerns to me, or my Marshal."
You nod.
Gyfford asks, "Does anyone have any questions regarding any of that?"
Ripa shakes her head.
Gyfford glances to each of the faces on the dais.

You say, "Not that I've seen."

Gyfford points at Kenamer.
Kenamer says, "I have been working on the Door as of late your grace."
Gyfford asks, "Ahh any progress?"
Kenamer says, "I am certain there is a workable combination to it."
Gyfford says, "I know Klurn (Cav, Commander) tried to blow it up."
Gyfford chuckles.
Kenamer says, "I think subtilty is the key."
Ripa lightly says, "As did Druidal (TG)."
Bertan (NW, Officer)'s skin gleams with a fiery lustre, his eyes determined and ready.
Gyfford says, "I must say I'm disappointed that I couldn't be there for that, Klurn (Cav, Commander)."
Vykanthiss (NW) shifts his weight.
Gyfford asks, "Nothing like a good firey explosion, eh?"
Rairken (TG, Council) chuckles.
You perk up your ears happily.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "I think a big boom is the key."

Kenamer asks, "I was thinking the commission of a locksmith of some sorts?"
Gyfford says, "I find it hard to believe that we don't have such a person somewhere in the ranks already."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Or get some Dwarves from Stone Clan."
Karthor (Cav, Council) leans on Galahant.
Galahant casually observes the area.
Kenamer ponders.
Gyfford says, "I've been tossing a few ideas with the Marshal but what he has in mind is going to take a little time and I want to make sure it's organized well."
Kenamer asks Gyfford, "I was thinking your man of the shadows would be well suited to help me crack it?"
Rairken (TG, Council) smiles.
Gyfford says, "And, yes, it may involve explosives, so I need to make sure the men are protected."
Ripa grins, revealing her dimples.
Gyfford fixes Kenamer with a frank, even stare.

Rekon (NW, Deputy Commander) grins.
Gyfford says, "I'm pretty sure we already have at least one locksmith in the province somewhere."
Kenamer asks, "And explosion may cause a collaps?"
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Milord the only way that warmage got back into the lair was through that Manor entrance that i know of."
Gyfford says, "And no, they don't have to lurk in the shadows to be a good locksmith."
Kenamer nods.
Kenamer says, "I will continue my efforts then."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "I'm a good locksmith and i can't get in it."
Gyfford nods.
Gyfford says to Klurn (Cav, Commander), "Exactly my point, Klurn (Cav, Commander)."
Rairken (TG, Council) says, "I tried to shield slam it once... threw my shoulder out."
Ripa grins at Rairken (TG, Council), her dimples flashing into view.

Rairken (TG, Council) says, "Of course your grace. I had regeneration up. I'll make sure to continue to do so for the warriors pushing the front."
Rairken (TG, Council) smiles.
You grin.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) asks, "Isn't lord Islief magically inclined?"
Gyfford says, "He is."
Klurn (Cav, Commander) asks, "Maybe he can waggle at it?"
Gyfford says, "He magically hordes all the coffers, I'm pretty sure he'd do well with just about any magic, frankly."
Gyfford appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Gyfford asks, "Anyone have anything else?"
You shake your head.
Ripa shakes her head.
Gyfford says, "Very well then. Keep your eyes open, I don't want to lose any of you to the orcs."

You proudly stand up your ears for a moment.
Klurn (Cav, Commander) says, "Take more than a Viggu to get rid of me."
