Meeting with Sentinel Captain Cierzen (5/28) 05/30/2018 11:00 PM CDT
Summary:
On the heels of the most recent Group Prediction debacle, Sentinel Captain Cierzen visited the Golden Phoenix Tavern of Shard in search of information.
A small group of Necromancers approached the Captain with claims of specialized intelligence. While Cierzen agreed to hear them out at first, he was unimpressed with what they had to offer and requested their removal from the city. The Necromancers were encouraged to leave peacefully. Instead, they stood their ground and were killed.
Aaoskar, one of the Moon Mages responsible for leading the disastrous Group Prediction, made an appearance. He apologized for the events of the day and claimed that only the Moon Mages who participated should take the blame for what occurred. Although he wished to have his apology published in the First Land Herald, his refusal to atone for the murder of True Bard Navesi several days prior resulted in the rejection of his request.
The remainder of the time involved discussing the events surrounding the Group Prediction, including both the Divine Intervention of Harawep and the distinct lack of intervention from the Moon Mage Council. A possibility was raised that the Council knew exactly what would occur, but decided not to intervene, with the possible hope of teaching the participating Moon Mages an abject lesson about the dangers of group predictions. Mixed opinions abounded regarding the merits of such a decision.
Finally, before taking his leave, Cierzen made a cryptic proposition: "Those who truly care about the next step... ..you'll find me."

[Golden Phoenix, Tavern Room]
The sharp scent of spices overlays the yeast of baking bread and the savor of roasting meats. Sunlight sparkles off cut-glass decanters and gleaming china on immaculate linen tablecloths. Pale yellow rosebuds in crystal vases are placed on each table along with a leather-bound menu, and gold flatware place settings are meticulously laid out, ready for the guest's dining pleasure. Booths nestled against the walls allow for privacy, or guests can choose to sit at a table.
You also see an elegant blue glass bar with several things on it, a rosewood archway and the publican.
Also here: Knight Magister Saragos who has a stony visage, Expert Trader Rafano, Lucky Olave, Sir Praxiuz, Zoluren's Herald Navesi, Alchemist Totenus, Mazrian, Perune, Hodierna's Fist Kaelie, Lucky Talmoon who is sitting, Light of the World Gwenddolyn, Ershta Zehira, Surgeon Gallifreius and Sentinel Captain Cierzen.
Obvious exits: north, east.

You see Sentinel Captain Cierzen Kurasoni of the House of the Waxen Moons, an Elothean Moon Mage.
Cierzen has a square-jawed face and tilted almond-shaped crystal blue eyes. His red-streaked ash-blonde hair is shoulder length and thick, and is worn tied back. He has tanned skin.
He appears to be in his prime.
He is in good shape.

He is wearing a kyanite gwethdesuan, a thin platinum pendant etched with the crest of the House of the Waxen Moons, a tower-shaped ruby medallion hung from a deep purple spidersilk cord, a pure white greatcloak with a wide silver border, a pair of steel cufflinks, a platinum and crystal badge, an elegant spidersilk backpack, a deep crimson Elothean silk tunic with silver edging, a light fire-blackened hauberk adorned with a moon pattern of silver links, a slim leather arm sheath, a gem pouch of richly embroidered Elothean silk, some black suede leggings laced along the outer seams and a pair of black leather boots with moon-shaped silver clasps.

Zehira laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

You scowl.

Mazrian says, "Long time ago. We'd been friends."

Navesi frowns.

Zehira says, "If we had the power that moonmages had, it'd be destroyed already."

Gallifreius deliberately asks, "If we could, remain civil?"

Navesi glares at Gallifreius.

Zehira says, "But instead we stand here unarmed, unbuffed, no pets, no zombies."

Olave exclaims to Kaelie, "You got your cheesecake!"

Zehira says, "Eating a cupcake."

Gwenddolyn says, "From theren no doubt."

(Navesi stops herself short, looking over at Cierzen as if waiting to see what he will do.)

Kaelie says to Olave, "And already guzzled my brandy."

Mazrian says to Gallifreius, "That's really up to the Captain, I think."

Cierzen casually observes the area.

You severely ask, "Really now. Are we to tolerate the presence of those who are just as responsible for the poisoning of the Web of Fate as the Lunar magicians?"

You sneer and disdainfully flick the tip of your tail downward.

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "It's your city. How do we respond to this situation?"

Gallifreius quietly says, "It's a vertiable who's who."

Zehira says, "Shard is my home, as well as Totenus'."

Cierzen asks Zehira, "Is it? The city proper?"

Cierzen gazes thoughtfully at Zehira.

You say, "No place of civilization is home to Necromancers."

Zehira says, "I do business in the city often enough."

Totenus says, "Says the zealot."

Cierzen says, "Business. That can be done very quickly. You were talking about where you lived."

Totenus says, "You seek everyone you claim is evil, and the ways you do it are unjust."

Cierzen asks, "Where it that?"

Zehira says, "Right outside the North gate."

Gallifreius mutters something into the air about blueberries.

Totenus says, "Now once again, calm down and lets get to the facts."

Zehira says, "I've had a home there for a few years."

Zehira says, "It's very nice, you should visit."

Praxiuz moves into position to cover you from harm.

Gallifreius confidently says, "This is bigger than individual trifles. We have an agenda."

Kaelie quietly says to Mazrian, "I thought we were supposed to talk about the recent events not living arrangments."

Gallifreius pushes his spectacles up the bridge of his nose.

You hear a brief ringing in your ears.

Cierzen gives a slight nod.

You angrily say, "The facts are that necromantic filth, those who contaminate the Web of Fate and defy the will of the Immortals, are standing here as if they belong anywhere else but the Spiral."

Cierzen says to Gallifreius, "Well, tell us about it then."

You say, "It is for your doing that we were all in danger."

Kaelie shakes her head.

Perune rubs his head.

Kaelie wrinkles her nose.

Kaelie says, "What ..."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "Forgive me. Please allow me to introduce myself. Navesi Daerthon, Zoluren's Herald."

Totenus says, "Yes because we used Moon Mage magic and attempted something that should of been done."

Totenus says, "Get your facts correct there little one."

Navesi asks Cierzen, "Would you like for us to take care of these Necromancers for you?"

Zehira says, "I know I always enter the astral plane."

Gallifreius quietly says to you, "In time, I do believe you'll learn that which you fear is unregulated progress, not any particular brand of advance."

Zehira asks Totenus, "Don't you?"

You angle your tail downward and then deliberately flick it insultingly at Gallifreius. Hmph!

Gallifreius grins sheepishly.

Totenus nods at Zehira.

Cierzen says to Navesi, "You're asking? You are too polite."

Gwenddolyn says, "If we are done discussing living arrangements, and introductions, we were discussing some odd things discovered recently."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "It is your city, my lord. I defer to you."

You say to Cierzen, "We should be pleased to remove this filth from your presence, Guard Captain."

Olave softly says, "Well, it's possible that attacking the group at the altar might have been taken as something less than helpful."

Olave glances at Zehira.

Zehira looks at Olave and shrugs.

Gwenddolyn says, "And Olave here has some information to share."

Cierzen says, "I may be that we could all talk, if just for a moment."

Olave asks, "Wait, what?"

Gallifreius loudly exclaims, "Oi! We were not all responsible for that, that's on her!"

Gallifreius points at Zehira.

Olave asks, "I do?"

Mazrian says to Cierzen, ""And we all just endured quite a blood bath already."

Cierzen asks, "And then they agree to leave back to their....homes ourside the city?"

Cierzen snorts, loudly.

Mazrian says to Zehira, "The guard had fantastic timing, by the way."

Totenus says, "I am here not to bicker, or degrade, or cast names, we are here to talk about facts."

Mazrian squints at Zehira.

(Navesi's face twitches into a half frown for a moment.)

You ask Cierzen, "With all due respect, what have we to gain from bandying words with Necromancers?"

Zehira says, "You're rusty old man."

Totenus says, "Lets focus on the events at hand."

Zehira winks at Mazrian.

Kaelie fixes Zehira with a serene, lofty stare.

Gallifreius quietly says to you, "We walk different paths, but the truths we find are just as valuable."

Cierzen asks you, "Is there a chance any of them saw or felt something you did not?"

Mazrian dryly says to you, "It's that or we all try to murder eachother. And we just went through that. Why don't we talk, at least for the next little b it."

Navesi leans over and whispers, "Mother, I think it best we quiet ourselves. We are in his domain. Much as it irks me, let them speak and let's get on with it."

Totenus says, "I did not see you fighting the portals Whiteburn."

Cierzen asks you, "Is there a chance even a one of them is not a madman bound to die and kill us all? Maybe they want to live too?"

Cierzen shrugs.

Perune laughs at Totenus.

Cierzen says to you, "I don't like it much more than you do."

You slowly lower your tail to the ground.

Gallifreius raises his hand.

Praxiuz whispers, "I follow your lead always"

Gallifreius quietly says, "I do infact, want to live."

Kaelie says to Totenus, "You were looking in the wrong place. She fought."

Perune exclaims, "Ha ha!"

Talmoon quietly says, "I dunno why you're dead set agains the necros, Cierzen, when those of your own ilk were the ones who created this particular mess to begin with."

You disgustedly say, "Then let us be done with this as quickly as we may."

Cierzen nods to you.

Navesi says to Totenus, "Mother Whiteburn fought as hard as anyone here."

Perune says, "I knew I let myself get burned alive for the wrong idiots."

Gallifreius nods politely to Navesi.

Totenus fixes Navesi with a calm, clear stare.

Navesi pointedly ignores Gallifreius.

Cierzen says to Gallifreius, "You said you had something. You and yours had best tell us now what happened and then be on your way."

Olave says to Talmoon, "The guild is definitely not responsible for members going off like that."

Mazrian says to Perune, "You saved a lot of other idiots as well. Don't forget that."

Perune asks, "Can we drink for every idiot saved? One brandy for each?"

Talmoon quietly says, "I'm just a poor common Olvi. I can't know what goes on behind closed towers."

Raising his dark roast coffee to Perune, Mazrian gives him a toast.

Perune says, "Today's challenge."

You whisper to Perune, "By Drogor, this is too much. Has Shard fallen so far?"

Gallifreius quietly says to Cierzen, "This isn't my place, to speak of. But I know a few small things. Demons, astral presence. That which happens to those who break the rules."

Perune nods to you.

Perune whispers, "Recall all the political talks?"

Cierzen asks Gallifreius, "You would talk of rules?"

Cierzen laughs!

Cierzen asks, "Next?"

Gallifreius grins sheepishly.

Olave says to Talmoon, "What? That's what Distant Gaze is for."

Gallifreius quickly says, "Well, I mean, they do govern, after all."

Cierzen asks, "Do you actually know anything of consequence?"

You whisper to Perune, "Tch... Even so, I had not the knowledge that things had become quite... well, like this."

Perune whispers, "Not much different than Dirge, I imagine."

Gallifreius quietly says, "I know that the necromancers have been making pacts with demons. Secondhand."

Perune whispers, "This man is hardly bothered because he controls the guard."

Cierzen stares blankly into the distance.

Zehira fixes Gallifreius with a frank, even stare.

Gallifreius quietly says, "I know that they threaten this world."

Mazrian rubs his head.

Cierzen says to you, "Necromancers making pacts with demons."

Gallifreius slowly empties his lungs.

You say to Cierzen, "I hear."

Gallifreius hesitantly says, "Is it really that big of a stretch? A lust for power is a defining trait."

Zehira says, "Just...tales."

Cierzen says to you, "He has nothing, I want them all gone."

Perune says, "That's not really new information though. Talinel is on the gweth every other day swearing he will get the Hunger to eat us all."

Cierzen nods to you.

You nod.

Olave hesitantly asks, "Isn't that what they, er, do?"

Totenus says, "I have something."

Cierzen glances at Totenus.

Gallifreius peers quizzically at Totenus.

Cierzen says, "Wait."

You ask, "Hm?"

Navesi folds her arms across her chest.

Totenus says, "The issue at hand was not about breaking rules."

Cierzen says to Totenus, "You had better make this worth it."

Totenus says, "Not about the insanity that was right or wrong."

Totenus says, "A group of moon mages got together."

Totenus says, "To do exactly what was done before."

Cierzen says, "Not quite, I'm told."

Olave shakes her head at Totenus.

Totenus raises an eyebrow.

Gallifreius breathes almost without making a sound.

Cierzen asks Totenus, "What do you think was done before?"

Mazrian dryly says, "They switched it up by doing it from the Astral plane. And by trying to look into the past."

The air shimmers for a moment as Aaoskar's spell ends and he becomes visible once more.

Totenus says, "There might be a twist to it."

Totenus says, "But in my peoples past."

Zehira says, "They tried to look into the past."

Olave says to Totenus, "It hasn't been done in astral before, which is what made them think it was safer."

Totenus says, "They attempted something almost exactly the same."

Totenus says, "Using a group."

Zehira says, "They should have known better."

Aaoskar says, "That was my reasoning."

Olave blinks at Aaoskar.

Cierzen glances at Aaoskar.

Totenus says, "If you cook an egg a bunch of different ways."

Totenus says, "Its still going to be a cooked egg."

Totenus says, "The results are the same."

Cierzen says, "It sounds like you're here for a drink and podium."

Totenus says, "And that is what happened here."

Cierzen says to Totenus, "You don't know anything I need."

Cierzen nods to you.

Aaoskar says, "The thought was that if anything crossed from the plane of probability, they would likely end up stranded and would be burned by the same lunar energy that eventually consumes all who stand in the astral plane."

You nod to Cierzen.

You say, "Necromancers, remove yourself from the premises at once."

Cierzen says, "This city if not a playground."

Gallifreius loudly exclaims, "I refuse!"

Navesi says, "The Captain has said he has no more need of you. Go before we summon the guards."

Mazrian dryly asks Aaoskar, "Did it ever occur to you that creatures from the Plane of Probability might have...seen that coming and made provisions?"

Gallifreius quickly says, "I demand my question, answered."

Rafano growls ferociously!

You say to Gallifreius, "You do not make demands of us, Necromancer."

Olave winces.

Gallifreius happily exclaims, "The hell I don't!"

Totenus fixes you with a calm, clear stare.

Gallifreius grins at you.

Kaelie says to Mazrian, "I am out of brandy. And cheesecake."

Cierzen says to Gallifreius, "Just go."

Navesi gazes upward.

Cierzen gazes hopefully at Gallifreius.

Aaoskar says, "That would be a possibility since it is possible that they have even seen this event unfolding now, thinking that they may cause us to become disunited."

Gallifreius nods politely to Cierzen.

Aaoskar says, "They are from the plane of probability."

You say to Gallifreius, "I would really rather not bloody this lovely tavern room."

Mazrian says, "Maybe we don't have to murder eachother, this once? You were able to speak your peace."

Navesi says, "I'm fetching a guard."

Aaoskar says, "And at least one species is known to be able to see the future."

Zoluren's Herald Navesi went through a rosewood archway.

Cierzen nods.

Gallifreius shakily says, "For what it's worth, I do feel fear."

Perune says, "Could've fooled me."

Aaoskar says, "But we also need to have solid evidence of how much we need to or not protect the obelisk."

Zoluren's Herald Navesi came through a rosewood archway.

Cierzen asks Aaoskar, "What did you do?"

Cierzen frowns at Aaoskar.

Aaoskar says, "Some believe they should be destroyed. others that it should be protected."

Aaoskar says, "We need knowledge so that we may know how to best protect Elanthia."

Aaoskar says, "This was our intent."

Navesi says to Mazrian, "Unfortunately Kureta didn't believe me. You might need to escort them out."

You say to Gallifreius, "When will you understand, foulness? Your kind is unwelcome here. You have made your bed and now you must lie in it."

You say to Gallifreius, "This is your final warning."

Gallifreius quietly says to you, "In all delicate honesty, I do believe you're a zealot incapable of reason."

Cierzen asks you, "Did this one take part in...all of it?"

Cierzen gestures at Gallifreius.

Gallifreius points at himself.

Gallifreius loudly exclaims, "None of it!"

You say, "This one attempted to interrupt our prayers to Harawep at the Temple."

Mazrian asks, "How about it? You all have had your say and you know you're presence can't be tolerated. Will you leave peacably as requested, and we can all call this cooperation?"

You say, "Along with that one."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "If I may, captain, he showed up several times at the altar to Harawep, despite our clear objections."

You angle your tail downward and then deliberately flick it insultingly at Zehira. Hmph!

Gallifreius quickly exclaims, "Yes! I was there to witness! I came to see the devestation, to help!"

Cierzen nods.

Gallifreius loudly exclaims, "For the love of everything you hold dear, I've done nothing other than be a party to your trial!"

Cierzen asks Gallifreius, "Why would the Gods ever respond to your request for aid?"

Navesi slowly says, "And we explained to him several times that his presence would not be welcome to an Immortal, nor to us."

Aaoskar says, "Yes, i saw this as well, but i also saw these necromancers die trying to fight back the Harbinger at the moon mage guild."

Kaelie softly says, "I could barely hear a breath from him, plea or prayer, but no harm from him. If that is of use."

Cierzen says to Gallifreius, "Redeem yourselv and return for a drink./."

Totenus says, "We come here seeking information like the rest, our spells not casted. I stood among Aaoskar to stop the harbringer that came."

Totenus says, "Yet this is how I'm treated."

You say, "His very presence on Holy Grounds is an insult."

Mazrian says to Totenus, "That is not the issue, and you have to know that."

Cierzen says, "Or at least don't corrupt the exact affair in question."

Aaoskar says, "His very presence in crossign likely saved the lives of many clerics this day."

Gallifreius quickly exclaims, "I do do my best!"

Perune mockingly asks, "You are a stand-up citizen! How dare we!?"

Gallifreius adjusts the fit of his spectacles.

Kaelie says, "I am not as wise as to Holy Grounds, my apologies. But here at least we can perhaps not bicker and tell each a side of a tale that may have more than two."

Cierzen asks Totenus, "You stood among him? Did you think you were the same as a Guilded Mage?"

Cierzen matter-of-factly says to Totenus, "You would be wrong."

Totenus says, "I say an issue and I solved it."

Totenus says, "By say I do mean saw."

Totenus says, "But I dont fathom myself anything but what I am."

Totenus says, "And who I am."

Cierzen says, "You sound confused now."

Cierzen asks, "Are you?"

Perune says, "Admittedly, he was confused yesterday too."

Perune says, "And the day before that."

Gallifreius quietly says to Totenus, "There was a time, when you stood for progress for all."

Rafano tiredly asks Cierzen, "I must confess it is I who am I confused . . . why do we sit here, trying to discern their motives? Is not the most charitable of necromancers still a defiler?"

Zehira says to Gallifreius, "He's changed."

Kaelie gratefully says to you, "If not for you I am sure we might have all perished. Your pleas helped keep that web."

Mazrian quietly says to Totenus, "A time before that, before you embraced this madness, that you were my friend."

You whisper to Cierzen, "I do not wish to cause an incident. However, I believe this has gone on long enough. If you have heard enough from them, I will act."

Cierzen quietly asks Rafano, "Appretisers?"

Aaoskar says, "I have the privilege of seeing two places at the same time. The necromancers were at the place of prayer as was i. many were united in prayer and seeking atonement. Even with the necromancers there, with my second eye placed firmly at the moon mage guild, i saw a spider like entity swoop down and take the harbinger away."

Cierzen says, "If I wasn't claer earlier."

Cierzen matter-of-factly says to you, "Yes."

You begin chanting a psalm to invoke the Harm Evil spell.

You begin to weave mana lines into a target pattern around Gallifreius.

You say, "You have been warned, Necromancer."

Gallifreius breathes almost without making a sound.

Totenus moves over to guard Gallifreius.

Gallifreius delicately says, "So I hav."

Totenus raises an eyebrow in your direction.

Gallifreius coughs.

Kaelie gazes down at the floor.

Gallifreius quickly says, "Have. have. have."

Totenus says, "I'm warning you once."

Rafano asks Cierzen, "What's an appretiser, Captain?"

Mazrian whispers, "Got your back."

You say, "You are eyesores upon the fabric of Elanthia."

Totenus says, "Drop your spell whiteburn."

Gallifreius blinks.

Gallifreius peers quizzically at Totenus.

You gesture at Gallifreius.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
The seethings of the Red Spiral resonate with your spirit.
A radiant aura empowers the spell.
A large wound rends open over Gallifreius's back, pouring forth with a hellish starry red light.

Navesi says to Gallifreius, "Why must you cause so much trouble? Just go."

Kaelie winces.

Gallifreius gestures.
Greasy black mist rises from Gallifreius's skin and expands outward to create a miasmatic sphere.
"Burn him! Burn him!" You hear the cries echo around you as everyone in the vicinity immediately gives Gallifreius a wide berth!

Mazrian folds his arms across his chest.

Gallifreius grumbles.

Saragos moves over to guard you.

You gesture.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
A whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist rises up around you.

The whirlwind of eerie purple and black mist becomes more violent, expanding outward from you to missile range.
Totenus is unaffected.
Zehira is unaffected.
Tiny red and purple shafts appear within the black mist surrounding Gallifreius and writhe in frenzy.
Your spell pattern's structure is damaged as it passes through the unholy miasma.
A radiant aura empowers the spell.
A misty purple tendril lances through Gallifreius's back.

* Gallifreius is slain before your eyes!
The miasmatic sphere surrounding Gallifreius dissipates.

The whirlwind dissipates as quickly as it formed.

Talmoon quietly says, "Well, this was an interesting waste of an anlas."

Talmoon gets an impish expression on his face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Olave ducks her head.

You get a startling sensation, as some sixth sense barely warns you of an assault by Totenus!
The air around you reverberates in time with your heartbeat, hindering the attack.
A white glow flares around you.
You feel something slash lightly across your abdomen.

Kaelie says, "All off this buffing and stancing doesn't make me feel like this talk is going to turn into productive understanding of what occured, Capitan."

Perune inhales sharply, then violently spits a bolt of churning flame toward Totenus!
Some of the fiery breath breaks against his small shield.
Dragonfire buffets Totenus's chest, twining into roaring pillars, and for a moment he rolls in scarlet flames! When the smoke clears, only a charred black ruin is left of the torso.

* Totenus is slain before your eyes!

Zehira gestures.
The air about Zehira begins to bleed with bilious, deep green hues that oddly strain the eye.
"Burn her! Burn her!" You hear the cries echo around you as everyone in the vicinity immediately gives Zehira a wide berth!

A torrent of sizzling, bile-green acid sprays outward from Zehira!
The wave completely engulfs Olave's left leg as it passes by, erasing it down to bleached bones that clatter down to the ground.
A sudden shout of "The woman's dangerous!" heralds a nearby citizen to run for the guards.
Olave is severely stunned!
Olave screams and falls to the ground grasping her mangled left leg!
The wave lightly pits Talmoon's left arm as it blasts across him.
The wave lightly pits Cierzen's right leg as it blasts across him.
The air around Saragos reverberates unnaturally, hindering the attack.
The wave lightly pits Saragos's right hand as it blasts across him.
The air around Rafano reverberates unnaturally, hindering the attack.
The wave deeply pits Rafano's abdomen as it blasts across him.
Rafano is severely stunned!
The air around Perune reverberates unnaturally, hindering the attack.
The wave lightly pits Perune's left arm as it blasts across him.
"Burn her! Burn her!" You hear the cries echo around you as everyone in the vicinity immediately gives Zehira a wide berth!

You hear the ghostly voice of Gallifreius say, "For what it's worth, not all of us were trying to posture."

Mazrian gestures at Zehira.
A sheet of slippery ice forms beneath Zehira!
Zehira slips and falls forward, slamming her face on the ice.

Mazrian makes a sharp overhand slapping motion at Zehira.
Zehira's small shield jerks around as a gale blows past it.
Zehira is struck by a violent wind that lands an awesome strike (12/23) to her back!

* Zehira is slain before your eyes!

Mazrian says, "It didn't have to go this way."

Perune says, "Yes, it did."

You hear the ghostly voice of Gallifreius say, "I still maintain there are greater threats than the egos in this room."

Mazrian says to Perune, "You're probably right. But it was a pleasant thought."

Cierzen says to Kaelie, "I would like an understanding."

Cierzen asks Kaelie, "Do you know what actually happened?"

You hear the ghostly voice of Zehira say, "Actually it didn't. You were the ones spelling up and getting your toys, we came unarmed without wanting violence."

You say, "Your very presence begets violence, corpse grub. You and yours are an affront to all that is good and holy."

Navesi asks Mazrian, "Would you mind dragging out the rubbish?"

You grab Gallifreius's body and drag it east with you . . .

[Golden Phoenix, Corridor]
Delphiniums mixed with green fern fill a glazed blue urn sitting upon a metal stand, and the walls are covered with azure and gold striped paper topped with gilded moulding. Brass rods hold the runner carpet covering the stairs in place and the aroma of lemony beeswax polish lingers about the rosewood bannister.
You also see a set of stairs.
Also here: the body of Surgeon Gallifreius who is lying down.
Obvious exits: east, west.

You strut west.

You also see a fiery fissure, a cobalt blue kitten with fur patterned to resemble white flames, a rosewood archway and the publican.
Also here: Zoluren's Herald Navesi, Master of Fate Aaoskar who is trailed by a discombobulated shadow jumping in and out of view, Sir Praxiuz, Lucky Olave who is sitting, Expert Trader Rafano who is blurred by hazy afterimages, Knight Magister Saragos, the body of Alchemist Totenus who is lying down, Mazrian who has a stony visage, Perune who has a stony visage, Hodierna's Fist Kaelie, Neighbor Talmoon who is sitting, Light of the World Gwenddolyn, the body of Ershta Zehira who is lying down and Sentinel Captain Cierzen.
Obvious exits: north, east.

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "As clear as I know the events, the moon mages were going to get together to try to enter the asteral plane and see into the PAST."

You hear the ghostly voice of Totenus say, "Thats how Zealots talks."

Mazrian says to Navesi, "They're not going anywhere, apparantly."

Navesi says, "Then I suggest we move."

Cierzen asks Kaelie, "And can you tell me how that turned out?"

You say, "Indeed."

Cierzen asks Kaelie, "Or can he?"

Cierzen glances at Aaoskar.

You hear the ghostly voice of Zehira say to Totenus, "It's alright, they will never see us coming one on one."

Perune says, "Moving defeats the statement."

Navesi asks Cierzen, "Sir, may I suggest we move to the bar just north of here?"

Aaoskar says, "Just ask."

Aaoskar says, "And i will speak the truth as i know it."

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "A group of us thought, hey that has been tried and ended badly, perhaps we should pray to Harawep to not render the web destroyed by the foolishness of a few."

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "Unless you can bring someone in to cart them off?"

You hear the ghostly voice of Zehira say to Totenus, "So we'll leave them to it and when the time is right, we will strike."

You sprinkle yourself with some holy water.

You wave some fragrant incense around yourself.
A wisp of smoke comes from your fragrant incense, surrounding you with the scent of smoke.

You close your eyes and concentrate, letting your mind still and feeling your breathing grow shallow. The world folds into a soft, rich velvet darkness in which you are the only shining star. For a split second you embrace existence without substance, before exploding outward with familiar holy power. As you slowly regain a sense of being, you are aware of foreign energies flooding the area that are outside of your control. The energies spread out around you like a blanket, covering the ground and suffusing it. You let the experience conclude naturally as the world returns around you, leaving you feeling wonderfully spent.

Mazrian says to Totenus, "A word of advice. You put yourself on this path decades ago, and that has consequences. If you want to try to do right now, you have to recognize that and work within the limitations your own actions have forced on you."

You bow your head in acknowledgment.

You sense a change in holy power throughout the area.

Sentinels come in to begin removing the bodies.

You hear the ghostly voice of Zehira say to Mazrian, "He works with me now, he has found his path, you need not worry about him."

Mazrian says to Totenus, "I can't agree with what you've done or who you've been. And I can't forgive you. But if you want to redeem yourself, I wish you luck . Sincerely."

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "So while the group with Aaoskar and other Moon Mages went to tinker with the planes of probability, we few devout stayed in the temple and prayed to Harawep. Black Widows came to us, exploded, consuming our flesh with fire to try to help redeem the web and keep worse things from happening."

Cierzen dryly says to Kaelie, "That sounds very noble."

Cierzen asks Aaoskar, "What happened?"

Aaoskar says, "First, i would say this was not a moon mage act."

Cierzen gazes thoughtfully at Aaoskar.

Cierzen squints.

Aaoskar says, "As is well known, Guildmaster prime does not condone what we did."

Aaoskar says, "He has sealed the line of research that i undertook."

Perune asks, "But weren't all of you Moon Mages?"

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "By the last spider dropping, we were tired and burnt and Asoskar came to offer himself. Knowing, perhaps, he was partially to blame for the events. And the Goddess seemed to be appeased."

Elder Liurilias came through a rosewood archway.

Perune asks, "Trained under the Guild?"

Liurilias comes and stands near you.

You bow your head in acknowledgment.

Aaoskar says, "So no moon mages are to be blamed save me and the few that accompanied me."

Cierzen glances at Liurilias.

Aaoskar says, "In fact, many moon mages denounced what was happening before we did it."

Liurilias cocks his head at Cierzen.

You whisper to Liurilias, "Greetings, Grand Inquisitor"

Aaoskar says, "Mistanna was one such person."

Cierzen says to Liurilias, "There's a sight for sore eyes."

Kaelie says, "Mother Whiteburn and Navesi did much of the praying and asking of guidance."

Liurilias says to Cierzen, "Good morning, sir."

Liurilias whispers, "Good to see you."

Aaoskar says, "So, i entered into the astral plane to open a larger portal into the plane of probability so that i could see a larger portion of the web of fate."

Cierzen nods to Aaoskar.

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "And I won't lie. I made Maziran swear to buy me cheesecake and brandy cause. Well. Spiders were involved."

Navesi absentmindedly rubs her spider amulet between her fingers, smiling slightly.

Kaelie says to Mazrian, "Love. I need more brandy and cheesecake."

Aaoskar says, "Our goal was to learn more of the obelisks and the obelisk builders. as we really need to know their importance in maintaining the stability of the planes and Elanthia itself."

Mazrian says to Kaelie, "And it's date night."

Aaoskar says, "We felt that the risk was worth the knowledge that could possibly help us protect Elanthia."

Aaoskar says, "We were wrong."

Mazrian asks Aaoskar, "That was sort of a collosal miscalculation, wouldn't you say?"

Navesi warily asks Aaoskar, "Am I in danger from speaking to you today?

Aaoskar says, "And when i saw that our swords and magic were of no use, i went to the temple."

Gwenddolyn says, "That is why the college in Theren was founded, to research the Obelisks and the Suur Pillar."

Aaoskar says, "Perhaps someone can vouch for me that i was there, i do not know."

Cierzen rubs his head.

Aaoskar says, "The research on obelisks as far as i know has been stopped."

Gwenddolyn asks, "Do you know why?"

Liurilias whispers, "Do I want to know what's going on?"

Aaoskar says, "And it has been stopped by one individual, not the council of mages as had happened in the past."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "He did go to the temple and try to do what he could, when it was clear everything had come apart."

Cierzen nods to Mazrian.

Kaelie says, "Cause Whiteburn and Navesi and a bunch of us let our chests burst into flames? I know what Mantle of Flame does and pretty sure THAT wasn't it."

Aaoskar says, "Because like many people, when they come across something they don't like, the stop completely, instead of understanding that sometimes gathering knowledge is a very long process."

You whisper to Liurilias, "Ahh... to condense a long story, it would appear that Aaoskar and Aerathor, two moon magi and sorcerors both, attempted to perform some sort of group prediction within the Astral plane."

Cierzen asks Aaoskar, "They let you do all of this, you realize it don't you?"

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "For what that's worth. He and Aeraethor also did as much as anyone to try and help when the creatures broke into the Plane of Abiding."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "For what it's worth."

You whisper to Liurilias, "If we had not prayed and offered ourselves to Harawep this plane might be somewhat less... liveable... than it is presently."

Kaelie says, "Aaoskar knelt right next me and joined hands in the final prayers."

Aaoskar asks, "I dont understand who it is that let us do this?"

Liurilias whispers, "Surprise..."

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "It's not worth much, but at least the Grandmaster thought it was worth them learning the lesson first hand instead of being shut down."

Aaoskar asks, "Do you mean this council here?"

Olave quietly says, "The guild."

Aaoskar asks, "Which guild?"

Aaoskar asks, "The moon mage guild?"

Mazrian dryly asks Aaoskar, "You're a guild full of seers. You figure it out?"

Aaoskar says, "Ah."

Aaoskar says, "There are few people in the guild who would oppose me for i have helped them in many different endeavors."

Talmoon quietly says, "Kind of a costly lesson..."

Aaoskar says, "Friends often are blind to the actions of friends."

Navesi tersely says, "Group predictions are strictly forbidden by the Council of Moon Mages."

Aaoskar says, "That is incorrect."

Gwenddolyn says, "Looking at the past is for parts, predicting the future is for moon mages."

Mazrian agreeably says to Navesi, "Because they tend to work out like this."

Aaoskar says, "The council of moon mages has not forbidden it. guildmaster prime has forbidden it."

Gwenddolyn says, "Bards."

Navesi says, "It is so. After the Mirror Wraith fiasco in 362. Grandmaster Taramaine Braun himself wrote that the study of such things has been sealed."

Aaoskar says, "One man is not a council."

Cierzen matter-of-factly says to Aaoskar, "Common sense has forbidden it."

Aaoskar says, "Yes. that is one person."

Navesi says, "My documents say it was the Council."

Perune says, "Who cares? It is the head of your Guild."

Aaoskar says, "Many things that were once held as common sense were later proved to be false. and at other times to be true."

Perune says, "Frankly I wish he had stepped up and stopped you ahead of time so I wouldn't have had to burn alive."

Mazrian asks Aaoskar, "In the wake of what just happened, can we just agree it was a practice banned for a damn good reason?"

Aaoskar says, "He is the head of the guild in name. but many are silent. i wonder why they are silent."

Liurilias says to Perune, "That sounds unpleasant.."

You say to Aaoskar, "You have killed at least one individual for questioning you on your decisions."

Aaoskar says, "I agree that this is something that i will continue to research, but it is something that i will research in books and seeking out the masters of lore, bards."

Cierzen says, "Well, at least I have a better understanding of what I fet."

Navesi bitterly says to Aaoskar, "And yet when a True Bard entered your meeting, you struck her down."

Cierzen says, "What I felt, tht is. And what happened."

Aaoskar says, "No, i woudl never do that. i struck down a rude person."

You say to Aaoskar, "All of us who enjoy life on this plane of abiding suffered for your decisions and your actions."

Binu came through a rosewood archway.

Aaoskar says, "When Mistanna disagreed with us, it was her being polite."

You say to Aaoskar, "The least you can do is acceptable personal responsibility for what you have done."

Aaoskar says, "And she disagreed and spoke her mind for ages."

Cierzen nods to Aaoskar.

Aaoskar says, "Oh. i do accept that this entire calamity was my fault."

Aaoskar says, "And i disagree that the moon mage guild is at fault."

Aaoskar says, "Just me alone."

Aaoskar says, "As you have said, the guild forbade what i did."

Aaoskar says, "So how can they be at fault."

Navesi says to Aaoskar, "I'm not exactly sure what it was in my tone that sentenced me to death, but if you had just taken the time to talk to me, I could have helped."

Kaelie says, "I fee like all of a sudden some young band of Warrior Mages might head to Throne City and try to reput that citadel back together now."

Mazrian dryly says, "That is certainly how the moon mage guild will spin it."

Cierzen glances at Mazrian.

Olave says to Mazrian, "It's the truth."

Aaoskar says, "As anyone who went to the meeting today would know."

Cierzen asks Mazrian, "As if you've never had a mess to clean up?"

Aaoskar says, "I let many people disagree with me for a very long time before i acted."

Cierzen chuckles.

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "Me, personally?"

Gwenddolyn says, "Unfortunately, the guild often takes the blame for the actions of its members."

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "No."

Talmoon quietly asks, "The actions of a member reflects the leadership of the guild?"

Aaoskar says, "That only happens if people make it a point for it to happen."

Aaoskar says, "I came here to accept blame."

Perune says, "It is responsible for the power taught to those members."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "I mean in that case...yes, often. I know my guild has had its moments, too."

Gwenddolyn says, "It reflects on the entire guild as a whole."

Cierzen asks Mazrian, "Do you want to tell us more?"

Aaoskar says, "I think this can be prevented with Navesi's help."

Navesi folds her arms across her chest.

Navesi slowly asks, "What do you mean?"

Aaoskar says, "I ask that Navesi write her wonderful paper and state that i have accepted the blame for the guild."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "About my guild's dirty laundry? What I know is mostly written history and not that interesting in any case."

Aaoskar says, "And that i acted against the guild."

Aaoskar says, "Stated policy."

You whisper to Navesi, "This one is certainly not short on nerve."

Cierzen asks Liurilias, "I sense one here. Do you?"

Liurilias cocks his head.

Liurilias searches around for a moment.

You search around for a moment.
You don't find anything of interest here.

Liurilias says, "Yes."

You ask, "Another Necromancer, Captain?"

Liurilias nods.

Navesi slowly says to Aaoskar, "I want an apology."

Liurilias says, "Smells like Gallifreius."

You begin chanting a psalm to invoke the Harm Horde spell.

You begin to weave mana lines into an all-inclusive targeting pattern centered around yourself.

You growl low in the back of your throat.

Aaoskar says, "I speak the truth and follow my conscious even if it means my death."

Perune says, "Gallifreius, you take the fun out of righteous wrath."

You exclaim, "By Drogor, that creature is touched in the head!"

Cierzen nods to Aaoskar.

Aaoskar says, "I dont apologize for my actions other than say that i learn from them and do not repeat them."

Navesi firmly says to Aaoskar, "You killed me. I want. An apology."

Cierzen asks Aaoskar, "You aren't the first probably won't be the last. Maybe there is something to a group, but...the past?"

You gesture.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
A hellish spiral of blazing red stardust rises up around you.

Aaoskar says, "You want forgiveness. that comes drom the gods."

The hellish spiral of blazing red stardust becomes more violent, expanding outward from you to missile range.
A radiant aura empowers the spell.
Gallifreius is revealed!
A starry red tendril strikes Gallifreius's abdomen.

The hellish spiral dissipates as quickly as it formed.

Gallifreius blinks.

Surgeon Gallifreius slouches east.

Aaoskar says, "Which is what i sought this day."

Cierzen matter-of-factly says to Aaoskar, "We're Seers."

Navesi says to Aaoskar, "No, what I want is from you."

Gwenddolyn says, "The past is for bards to see."

Aaoskar says, "It's a shame people dont always get what they want."

Aaoskar says, "I apologize for my actions this day."

Navesi says to Aaoskar, "Then you won't have what you ask."

Navesi folds her arms across her chest.

Aaoskar says, "That is fine. i spoke the truth."

Cierzen asks Navesi, "What do you need?"

Aaoskar says, "Even if none would hear it."

Cierzen squints at Navesi.

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "Not sure if we ever met properly, name is Kaelie. Empath in Zoluren, pretty harmless I am."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "When I first learned of Aaoskar's endeavor, I attended a meeting of his and asked some questions. He did not like my tone and struck me down. I'd like an apology."

Saragos asks Aaoskar, "Well, that's some hubris. Apologizing for the destruction your shortsightedness wrought, but refusing to apologize for killing someone who dared to ask questions beforehand?"

Cierzen asks Kaelie, "Pleased to meet you I was calling you 'cheesecake' in my mind. Is that rude?"

Saragos says to Aaoskar, "Sounds like the only thing you're sorry about is that your hand got caught in the cookie jar."

Cierzen asks Aaoskar, "And you won't just apologize?"

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "Only I get to call her Cheesecake."

Olave slowly says, "What I don't understand is why something like this was planned under the guild's nose and allowed to continue, if it put the whole lands in danger."

Kaelie animatedly says to Cierzen, "Not at all."

Aaoskar says, "No i did not kill Navesi ever for speaking against me. anyone who saw me tonight would know that i let countless people give speeches against me."

Aaoskar says, "Mistanna was polite and disagreed with me."

Aaoskar says, "Navesi is a brat."

Perune says to Olave, "The man of the hour. Excellent question."

Aaoskar says, "And i will not apologize for that."

Navesi says, "He most certainly did kill me. He said I was 'rude'."

Aaoskar says, "Yes i did."

Saragos says to Aaoskar, "Ah, killing in a fit of pique is much better. Child."

Cierzen asks, "What did Miskton say about all this?"

Cierzen squints at Aaoskar.

Aaoskar says, "No."

Saragos fixes Aaoskar with a frank, even stare.

Aaoskar says, "I think anyone who knows me knows that it is extremely difficult to make me angry."

Aaoskar says, "I would say look at my actions for the past 100 years."

Aaoskar says, "And it is only Navesi who i have ever done this to."

Aaoskar says, "So for this day, i apologize and accept all responsibility."

Gwenddolyn says, "Unfortunately, they reflect on your most recent actions, since that is what we all recall last."

Aaoskar says, "Even if i must be hanged."

Saragos asks Aaoskar, "Every drop of blood from today is on your hands and others, and all of that is fine because you found the person who dared to speak against you rude. Is that it?"

Navesi says, "I admit that I was irritated at the time. You were preaching both sorcery and recklessness. But I did not deserve to die."

Aaoskar says, "We are talking about two different events."

Praxiuz says to Aaoskar, "I would say that Navesi is one of the kindest people I know."

Aaoskar says, "I apologize and accept all the horrors that stemmed from my actions."

Aaoskar says, "Today."

Olave frowns and rubs her temples.

Navesi asks Aaoskar, "But not for killing me?"

Mazrian asks Aaoskar, "You know that there is likely to be some kind of formal inquest and, I imagine, punishment?"

Kaelie asks, "Well we can all admit that our voices do sometimes carry over one anothers, which can come off as rude, right?"

Saragos says to Aaoskar, "We are not. You killed her when she dared question your mad scheme which caused this disaster we've been dealing with."

You say to Cierzen, "Miskton was not present, at least not within Temple Grounds. But I understand that he was against the Group Prediction, at least according to what was written in the First Land Herald."

Cierzen nods to you.

Aaoskar says, "You speak out of ignorance because you were not there."

Aaoskar says, "I am very honest in everything that i have said."

Aaoskar says, "I admitted to causing the deaths of hundreds."

Saragos says to Aaoskar, "You speak out of ignorance because you cannot step out from behind your pride."

Aaoskar says, "Why would i like about why i killed navesi."

Cierzen says to you, "I didn't doubt it but..well...we must always be careful."

Aaoskar says, "Neither can navesi."

Aaoskar says, "Or navesi would not insist."

Talmoon quietly asks, "Is this tribunal more important than anything else?"

Navesi fixes Aaoskar with a proud, defiant stare.

Aaoskar says, "My refusal is to point out the pettiness that navesi is...when she is claiming a high road."

Cierzen says, "You're all still rather up-in-arms, aren't you."

Cierzen smirks.

Navesi says, "I am proud of who I am, and I deserve an apology."

Aaoskar asks, "Why not focus on today and the countless deaths that happened and how we and i can make the future better?"

Liurilias says, "Lots of arms present."

Mazrian quietly asks Cierzen, "Can you blame us?"

Gwenddolyn says, "Pettiness is killing hundreds out of curiousity, even if it means going against your guild."

Saragos asks Aaoskar, "And you do not find it petty to refuse to apologize for killing someone? After all of this that you've wrought?"

Navesi says, "That said, you won't give it, so we needn't harp on it any more. But I won't be aiding you until you've done it."

You say to Aaoskar, "For someone who puts himself forward to apologize for nearly causing a planar catastrophe, your penitence seems somewhat less than genuine."

Perune says, "We've been doing this a while, being prepared kind of grows on you."

Gwenddolyn says, "That is selfish."

Aaoskar says, "And navesi's insistence on an apology is out of selfishness."

Aaoskar says, "I ask for a greater good."

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "You mentioned the Grandmaster was aware of this and let it go forward. What happens now that it's happened?"

Saragos asks Aaoskar, "Oh, wait, am I being rude as well? Shall my life be forfeit as well for daring to gainsay your marvelous plan?"

Aaoskar says, "Let us figure out how to bring about that."

Aaoskar says, "No. you are questioning to discover the truth."

Aaoskar says, "I respect that Saragos."

Saragos inhales sharply, then violently spits a bolt of churning flame toward Aaoskar!
The blazing spittle impacts harmlessly with his aldamdin targe.

Aaoskar says, "And i respect all of the concern that is shown here this night."

Saragos says to Aaoskar, "This to your respect."

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "What I mentioned was he would have undoubtedly seen it all along."

Cierzen says, "He allowed it."

Cierzen says, "Which is what I find fascinating."

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "Ok. I think the question is....who is now held accountable, and by whome?"

Mazrian says, "Because Aaoskar is right, he caused dozens of deaths at least."

Talmoon quietly asks, "Considering the recent events, why did he allow it, and what was to be gained from it, or do you not know?"

Cierzen matter-of-factly asks Mazrian, "For what?"

Talmoon quietly asks, "Or is he just going to allow all sorts of "kill everyone around town" events from now on?"

Mazrian slowly asks Cierzen, "Accountability for what?"

Binu says, "Ok, can you guys catch me up on what happened tonight? I've only heard that some people died horribly."

Navesi says to Binu, "I'll catch you up privately."

Cierzen matter-of-factly asks Mazrian, "The sensations the populace never felt or the harbinger that never made it past our gates?"

Troupe Bartender Aashja just arrived, leading her group.

Cierzen asks, "Yes, for what?"

Perune says to Binu, "The short version is that a group of moon mage attempted a group predicition in the astral plane."

Liurilias says, "That sounds like a horrifying idea."

Rafano incredulously asks Cierzen, "You can't possibly suggest, Captain, that the mere failure of the crime makes it not a crime?"

Gwenddolyn says, "Worst yet, it was looking into the past."

Talmoon quietly asks, "How many randomly died because of their unawareness while passing by? What if the harbinger had appeared in the middle of town?"

Mazrian matter-of-factly says to Cierzen, "Dozens of deaths at the very least, among the defenders who kept the Midden from being overrun."

Cierzen snorts, loudly.

Aashja says, "It was intense."

Aashja says, "Ruven and I were at the blast zone."

Ruven nods emphatically.

Cierzen says, "I can suggest that you have every confidence that we take care fo our own."

Mazrian matter-of-factly says to Cierzen, "The suffering endured by those holding vigil for Harwep, without which that Harbinger might still be there."

Cierzen matter-of-factly exclaims to Mazrian, "Just as you do!"

Perune says, "Plus those of us who were ritually tortured to solve the problem they caused."

Cierzen glances at Aaoskar.

Cierzen scowls.

Mazrian matter-of-factly says to Cierzen, "And gods, man. Think of what the slightly worse case would have been."

Rafano tiredly says to Cierzen, "Any confidence I might have had is strained by this encounter alone."

Aaoskar says, "I think you all doubt the power of Harawep."

Mazrian says, "That demands a response."

Liurilias veneratively raises his hands toward the ceiling, rocking from side to side, lost in prayer.

You ask Cierzen, "Is not preventing disaster just as integral a part of taking care of your town as taking up arms once catastrophe has struck?"

Aashja says, "I think you all doubt the power of Huldah."

Olave slowly says, "Measuring punishment by the harm caused doesn't seem particularly unfair."

Perune says, "This also ignores the fact that Harawep was pondering back on the previous Hollow's Eve. To kill us all, or not."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "And not an "oh, we'll take care of our own, wink wink" response."

Saragos says to Perune, "And what there were signs she was pondering during this as well."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "I've been around that block as often as you, sir."

Perune says to Saragos, "That's what I mean, yeah.

Cierzen chuckles.

Aashja says, "In the defense of the people... We did try to take care of each other."

Aashja says, "We were just out blasted."

You say to Aaoskar, "None of us doubt the power of Harawep. But neither should you count on miracles saving you from ill-fated decisions and harebrained plans."

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "You've been around the block, but you're not understanding that we've seen the next one built."

Aashja says, "Like horridly."

Binu says, "I'm sorry I wasn't around to help."

Cierzen says, "I suppose you never will."

Cierzen shrugs.

Talmoon quietly says, "So the ends justify the means..."

Cierzen says, "But you could argue."

Aashja says, "I've seen mircles in unity."

Aashja says, "Miracles."

Mazrian asks Cierzen, "You weren't so smug when you were younger, and the Inquisition was on. What happened to you?"

Cierzen says, "To who I wonder."

Cierzen asks, "Who saw...any of this?"

Cierzen gazes thoughtfully at Mazrian.

Cierzen chuckles.

Aashja says, "The moon mages."

Saragos asks Cierzen, "Seriously? Are you now to deny that any of this happened?"

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "Funny how time and brands and lies can change you."

You gaze at Cierzen.

Talmoon quietly asks, "Deflections?"

Perune says, "I think he's implying a bunch of people knew this was going to happen exactly as it did."

Mazrian quietly says to Cierzen, "It's really not. I know that as well as you, too."

(Mazrian looks sympathetic for a moment.)

Cierzen smiles at Perune.

Cierzen says to Perune, "Some lessons are meant to be learned."

Gwenddolyn says, "I recall agreeing with Mazrian about just that beforehand."

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "For a start, a number of moon mages and non moon mages who were in on the attempt but not the planning could testify. And then everyone who responded to the massive incursions, of course. And surely some civilians."

Perune says, "I would prefer not to be the sacrifice for their education, however."

Mazrian says, "At the very least, I imagine the government of Zoluren will have some pointed questions."

Saragos says to Cierzen, "And if you were wrong? Are you and yours so very certain of your infallibility? There are others who were so certain in the past, that nearly ended everything."

Olave says to Perune, "Then don't volunteer. No one was forced to be at that altar."

Liurilias asks Perune, "If you save them from their lesson, do they really learn anything?"

Mazrian says, "And would probably not appreciate "we saw it coming but we wanted to teach those scamps a lesson" as a response."

Perune says to Olave, "I believe I will remmeber that the next time each of you is dying."

Saragos asks Cierzen, "Are you so willing to gamble with all of our lives just for the sake of not daring to be questioned?"

Aashja says, "I've been sacrificed..."

Perune says, "Or, I think I will return to studying Earth Manipulation. I've been very interested in tower construction lately."

Perune says, "But I think tonight's actions had made me interested in something else."

Olave says to Perune, "Please don't mistake what I said for lack of gratitude. I was there and I burned, too."

Aashja says, "It would make other gods very angry."

Perune says, "Tower demolition."

You say, "Lesson or no, I will not stand by and allow the Gods to be defied."

Binu says, "I certainly won't be defending the Crossing temple any time soon. Shard was far more grateful, and less murderous."

Olave says to Perune, "But it wasn't a price that was demanded of you."

Talmoon quietly says, "Not even defied, but abused, as if expecting the gods to intervene so that mages could do what they wanted."

You say, "Precisely.

Perune says to Olave, "Tell that to people who can't get back up afterwards."

Perune says, "I shall be on my way."

Mazrian says, "At any rate, nothing is going to be decided between us, here and now, I'm sure."

Mazrian lays his palms against Perune's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.

Mazrian says, "And we're all alive and whole, more or less, which is something to celebrate."

Perune went through a rosewood archway.

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "I'm very sure you understand my importance."

Cierzen says to Mazrian, "But thanks for telling me everything."

Binu says, "Certainly. There is too much ego abound for any real leadership and good decision making."

Aashja waves a golden silk pennant stamped "GO TEAM!" around wildly while whooping and yelling!

Talmoon quietly says, "Good to know what the general moonie position is, though."

Saragos quietly says to Cierzen, "You certainly seem convinced of it."

Aashja says, "I can assure that I was there in the field."

Aashja says, "First hand."

Aashja says, "I was one of the people blown to shreds."

Aashja says, "Almost twice."

Talmoon quietly says, "I had to scoop her into my pack just to move her around."

Aashja says, "More than 10 of us ALL AT ONCE."

Aashja says, "In one shot."

Aashja says, "People that are FAR beyond capable."

Aashja says, "Just destroyed."

Aashja says, "This is more than we're considering to be average."

Aaoskar says, "I shall be going. if you decide you need to speak to me again, just let me know."

Binu says, "Those harbingers are certainly a force to be reckoned with."

Lowering his head in reverence, Aaoskar sweeps his wool cloak aside and bends in a formal bow.

Cierzen nods to Aaoskar.

Master of Fate Aaoskar went through a rosewood archway.

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "How have you been, by the by? Nigh on thirty years since we spoke more than a few words. I hope some of it has been good."

Cierzen chuckles.

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "I have him on the path of being retired and fatherhood."

Cierzen says to Kaelie, "You should include 'sensible closing and openings' to all that."

Kaelie sweetly asks Mazrian, "Don't I darling?"

Cierzen says, "It would help him make more sense."

Aashja asks, "I think we should all not care about things that happened in the past and maybe consider the fact that our OVERALL well being might be at stake here?"

Binu asks, "Sensible openings in clothing? What?"

You say to Cierzen, "Ah, pray forgive me for my rudeness. After all this time, I do not believe we have been introduced although I have heard of you. I am Whiteburn, of the Inquisition. I study under the tutelage of Grand Inquisitor Liurilias."

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "I also should probably not enable him."

You bow your head in acknowledgment.

Praxiuz says, "If you would excuse me, I have to take care of some things."

Praxiuz says to Cierzen, "A pleasure to meet you, I am Praxiuz."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "Mother Whiteburn."

Aashja asks, "The all of Elanthia should outweigh petty falling outs? Don't we all evovle emotionally atleast every decade?"

Binu says, "I'm old. Nice to meet some of you."

Navesi says to you, "You should not deny yourself your earned title, Mother."

You trill softly at Navesi.

Mazrian says to Cierzen, "I didn't realize I was being unclear."

Aashja says, "I'm Aashja."

Aashja says, "I am a bard."

Binu says, "The rest of you I know well."

Talmoon quietly says, "I wouldn't bother with him. Waxen moons be damned amidst the rest of the leadership of crazy magic users and their apathy towards harming Elanthia in general."

Cierzen says to you, "Yes...I've..heard of you of course."

Aashja says, "You're all designed to be helpful together."

Aashja says, "EVERYONE."

Cierzen says, "You've done good work."

Aashja says, "How can you sit here and fight when the real fight is out there."

Cierzen rubs his neck.

You think to yourself, "... I am unsure whether to be pleased or apprehensive. What are people saying about me...?"

Aashja says, "Seriously."

Olave politely asks, "Have the general questions been answered?"

Aashja says, "Clearly not."

Binu says, "Some moon mages did a bad thing. Many people died horribly. Some people sacrificed themselves to Harawep to beg for assistance."

Cierzen says, "It's..a big group. We haven't had so many of you care about Shard in qutie some time."

Binu says, "I think that's the gist of it."

Cierzen says to Binu, "Well that's not quite it. It seems we're a bit more on edge than that."

Ruven says, "Well i did only recently become a citizen here, so never really had a reason to care as much."

Binu says to Cierzen, "I don't remember you helping me defend the streets and citizens when the harbingers and zenzics attacked last time."

Rafano wryly says, "I wouldn't go so far as to say we're here because we care about Shard."

Mazrian says, "Add to that Harwep actually provided the assistance, and if she hadn't we probably would still be trying to figure out how to fight it."

You say, "It is a great deal easier to discuss matters without the stench of Necromancy hanging about."

Kaelie says, "Well, let's hope that Shard doesn't suffer ramifications of our enthusiastic Moon Mages and our davought prayers. For certain."

Cierzen asks, "Do you think Shard suffers from a lack of prayers?"

Binu says, "There's some brandy."

Liurilias says, "Not so long as Mother Sothavi still trains acolytes I would wager."

Olave wryly says, "The discussion of 'enough prayers' is where I need to bow out, definitely."

Cierzen says to Liurilias, "Sothavi, yes. And they forget the grest sacarifice of Amaldriel."

Cierzen says to Liurilias, "Memory is so short."

Aashja says, "Prayers? Yeah you better say em... Bet you should make friends with Huldah before he really makes it funny..."

Liurilias says to Cierzen, "Typically."

Kaelie says to Cierzen, "Not from my part. Often vote for the safety of Shard. One of my Khalo is here. Annael. I pray she is safe and doing well always as a citizen now of Ilithi."

You say, "The people of Shard understand the importance of reverence unto the Dark Ones, as well as those of the Light. That is a lesson that the people of Zoluren could stand to learn."

You say, "And those of Therengia as well

Kaelie says, "Pray not vote."

Olave whispers, "Thank you for your efforts today. If you need anything, please let me know."

You whisper to Olave, "Of course. And thank you as well, for attending us in prayer. Things might have taken a much darker turn had there not been supplicants."

Liurilias says to Cierzen, "A true light in our world."

Aashja says, "I still feel we should start thinking more about unity vs whatever past crap we have to boil on."

Aashja says, "It's gonna get bad... we can't afford to be divided."

Cierzen says, "I feel like I've learned all that I need to."

Aashja says, "We're stronger together."

Aashja says, "I hope so."

Cierzen says, "Those who truly care about the next step..."

Navesi says to Cierzen, "If it interests you, I will likely draw up a report in the next few days."

Cierzen glances at Mazrian.

Cierzen says, "..you'll find me."

Cierzen gives a slight nod.

Kaelie honestly says, "It was a true pleasure to finally meet you."

You give a slight nod.

Sentinel Captain Cierzen went through a rosewood archway.

Navesi, Whiteburns ever present hype-woman. It always amuses me. Good log.

Monster Elec

You hear the distant echo of a savage Horde snarling in barbaric disapproval of your deeds.
