Rust-colored clay beneath the sandy shoreline overhead forms the perimeter of the cellar. Only a handful of square beams provide reinforcement to the dense earth. The southern wall is stacked with large oak barrels recovered from the shipwreck, while wooden steps leading upward are bolted onto the northern wall.
