I keep seeing posts that I've already read. I've choosen the option in my profile to show only unread messages, but I keep seeing messages that I've already read, even after choosing 'mark all as read'.
Was it because the forum moderators slipped the posts into a different folder, that's happened to me a few times, admittedly over a course of many months, but it does throw you a little?

No, it's not because they've moved them. The same thing has been happening to me as well. I've been seeing the same two posts in a moon mage folder ever since they upgraded the forums. I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of seeing them all the time, but nothing has worked. I posted about it on the Simu Forums folder (or something like that) when I first noticed it but I'm not sure how often that gets read.
