Obligatory plug for prompting people who are set to CLOSED/NONE (or who haven't set anything) about this feature when they log on. Not everybody reads the boards.

Good point. I've noticed with a few big changes like this that there haven't been accompanying news items or whatnot to alert non-board-monkeys to changes. I don't know if that's the case in this specific instance since I haven't logged in since the latest profile change, but this is a good idea for this and systems in general.
