Does mean spousal consent now works with OPEN like it does any other stance?

Thanks looks good. What about the option to view profiles of people who are offline?

Either through the game or on Simu's website?

You might want to check the announcement again:

Currently not possible. The data doesn't exist when the person is offline.

Use "profile /set nowindow" to change that.

"Profile" shows tons of options with this being one.

Okay. Just had two sepreate people check this for me and my IM info is not showing up in my profile. I have updated it three times now to triple-check and nothing. Not when they look at it, when I look at my own or in the second Storm Front edit window that hsows you the results.

Is there ANY way to fix this? Not all of us use stormfront, and it is a little unnerving to have to download stormfront and log into it just to be able to read what appears to be hyperlinks.

Is it possible to put in the words so we can all read it, then add a (Click to toggle) or what ever on another line, so it doesnt mess up the words we are seeing? Below is what it looks like while using Genie. (Granted Genie is not a simu Front-end, I know it is very widely used program, and should be considered when making releases)

Usage:
PROFILE {player} [option]
View a player's profile.
OPTION:
RP - View a player's ROLEPLAY setting at a glance.
PVP - View a player's PvP setting at a glance.
WINDOW - view the player's profile in a pop up window.
NOWINDOW - view the player's profile in the story window.
If no option is used, it will default to your window setting.
Your default: nowindow.
Opens up a pop up window that allows you to edit your profile through a GUI.
PROFILE /SET {FIELD} {OPTION}
FIELD:
for options
for options.
for options.
for options.
for more info.

WINDOW - PROFILE {player} shows profile in a pop up window by default.
NOWINDOW - PROFILE {player} shows profile in story window by default.

I'm set to closed on purpose. I rather not give someone the opportunity to get their rocks off by figuring a way around guarded policy to kill me. Maybe in the distant future when i could withstand more than 1 hit by those who do the majority of out of tournament pvp.

There is no guarded policy.

Guarded is just a way of saying "I won't whine if I get killed assuming you're not being a complete ass about it." But it doesn't actually modify consent policy.

Closed is mostly for people who either don't know about PROFILE yet or have the assist/report verbs on macros.

Just make sure you act like you have a closed profile and not go around PvP'ing as if you are guarded or open.

Too many people use the PvP profile settings only to how they wish to be treated, despite how they act themselves.

Wouldn't only people who read the boards be aware of this Profile feature?

I was considering changing my character to Open, but frankly I am not confident that people will be attacking me for RP reasons, rather then just because they can (looking at you thread in the Necro folder about people looking for any reason to jump them).

That almost never happens.

I switch between Open and Guarded depending on how I'm feeling about PvP during any given week.

I'd like to echo a request for an IG announcement about PROFILE, perhaps issued once upon login. That would be really helpful.

I also had some misgivings about switching to Open but I did it anyway. It's been a couple months now and still no bad results. The opposite, in fact.

I suggest you try it for a while and see how you like it - if you get sniped too many times for your liking, you can always switch back.

On a side note, I love that I can specify "Uninterested" in the Spouse line. Thanks for that!

Open is mostly for those people who think the consultation suite is where GMs take them when the GMs want advice from the player. Gotta admit, Ree, this is actually pretty fun! :)

I've said it before. I'll say it again.

All of my characters' profiles are set to Open and RP Heavy. I feel it has to be open to RP Heavy, but that's another matter. My main character is fairly well known. He has never been attacked outside of RPed situations.

My lesser characters are no higher than 20th circle. They've never been attacked. Ever.

Open doesn't mean free-for-all. Even The Fallen doesn't mean free-for-all.

Give it a shot. Worst case, you die a few times and you can set it back to closed. Best case, it opens up a whole new world of RP that will enrich your experience in DR.

Note: while my main character has been around for ages and may be well-known, he's only 52nd circle. It's not like he can't be pwnd at any given moment by a vast number of characters.

Seriously, give it a try. Just be open to RP stuff out if you do get killed, even if the killer doesn't seem to RP at the time. I am of the belief it will enrich your experience if you are willing to let it.

One of my old teachers had a funny saying. "You can't control what happens to you, but you can control how you choose to react to it."

That, and it puts some people at ease when they know the person they're interacting with is willing to take a beating without calling in a GM. Speaking from extensive experience, a scene can turn extremely stressful for me as a player if I have to start wondering if this person will report me if I lay a text-hand on them regardless of the justification, or wonder if that assist in the queue after I kill someone is about me. Waiting with bated breath for a SEND regarding a consult to come is absolutely nerve-wracking, and I hate dealing with it and I triply hate dealing with anyone that would put me in that situation.

Not thatit really matters but my RP is as a widow and I would love it if profile allowed such a descriptor seeing as it is supposed to enrich the RP environ.

One of the reasons I never use snipe in a PVP situation is that I do not wish to loose it. Profile does help with this issue.

I can't imagine. I've never managed to do anything but zone out completely during PVP with no memory of the event afterwards.

Maybe there's a community college class for that.
