Damn is (or should be) fine. Even god damn is fine. There's even an Ilithic word for it! (Madaricatu.)

Damn is fine. Adding any IRL god in front of it can get you nudged. Alternately, saying Damaris be damned, totally fine.

On a side topic, losing thump and gwethsmashers for 6 months due to getting a vulgarity warning is pretty silly. (Or any warning really.)

Vulgarity warnings are pretty silly in my personal opinion.
Unfortunately, my personal opinion doesn't change our game rating of E, or the fact that we have to enforce the vulgarity policy because of it.

I use Idon's stones (or occasionally a more flavourful variant or two) as a curse in game with some regularity. Haven't been called out on it yet.

I'm not sure if simutronics considers it offensive, but I don't consider it offensive. I do however consider "Elven" or "Elvish" as being offensive. Just because you're serious, doesn't mean I have to be. :)

I liked the whole getting soap in the mouth thing. I guess some words are just worse then others and require GM intervention.

You could enforce vulgarity, with warnings... but perhaps make them less punative?

I think it would be funny if you were cursed. Long lasting CoZs or Maledictions for taking a God's name in vane. They don't even have to show up. Just, "you are cursed" messaging and curse.
