There is your problem. Sadly, most people don't care.

You are Agonar's Best Friend Raydell D'Rougus, a Human Barbarian.

Agonar glares at you, "I do not have time for idle chatter or nonsense. Make sense or begone!"

The notion that "boxies" and "swampies" and such are IC slang seems strange to me. It's adorable and all, but I don't think I've ever met a real live human being who would even consider using baby-talk to discuss all manner of life-threatening creatures, objects, and situations.
I know I can't stop it, but it drives me nuts. "Puff" is another one. You know what? It doesn't sound even remotely like the word "empath"! Something must be done. :)
As far as names, so that I'm on-topic... I tried to choose "Uhura" and they told me I couldn't have it, and then within 15 minutes or so of rerolling so I could pick a new name, I swear I ran across about seven people whose names were words like "Picklesticks" and "Hoorayforme" or similarly asinine garbage. Geez, at least "Uhura" is a real name. And I totally didn't even think of Star Trek until they told me I couldn't have it...

P.S. "Boxies" isn't even a good nickname! It's longer than the real word! Argh.

They're IC because they were developed and used in game (actually at least some probably come from the days of GS3). I'll agree that at least some of the IC slang is annoying, but it's much easier for me to swallow that someone saying to their Prydaen friend, "Fo' shizzy my Prizzy."

Terms like Gob and Swampy are fine. People have always given short, funny-sounding names to their enemies--The Japanese were Japs in WWII, the Germans were Krauts and the Soviets were Reds.

Look up some of the European slang for gypsies--gyppos and pikeys are just a few.

I think "puff" is supposed to a mangled combination of Empath and fluff (which is what every knows empaths are reknowned for)

Bigoted abbrevations are just as unfortunate IG as they are IRL. :) (Yes, I am largely kidding.)

Goblins are people too! I'm going to start some kind of campaign...
