I am not much of an RPer, but I only play in the Fallen. I've said it here before, but I will say it again. People are extremely welcoming in the Fallen. You do not need to fear being killed. Crafted gear is readily available as well as starting cash, as long as you're willing to stick around.

As said, the Fang Cove portals are always open, so there is always a class going with empaths available in Fang Cove. It's the central gathering spot. There is starting gear on the shelves around there. There's also an auto boat that will sail you anywhere you want to go.

While some people are basically afk around the clock, the game wide chatter makes the game feel more social to me. There is usually a conversation going about something.
