So how rare is the dark figure card? 02/16/2004 11:34 PM CST

I know lots said or thought it to be the rarest card.

it very well could be. I'm just curious.

I did finish one set and been filling up my case for a second am im close. In the past few months though without finishing a second set I have colleced on my own 5 dark figure cards though. Just makes me wonder if I'm luckier than most or if it's really the rarest card.

It doesn't seem like it's as rare anymore, I have like 6 now (all found, none traded for). The Two Birds on the other hand I've never found but traded for 3.

Humm I have found like 3 of those (the two birds) in past 4 or so months lots of hunting. I have found no aftermath ones though and still one of it for second set. Quite a number of my cards without any trading are building up. many have a dup or two dupes. After 2 dups I generally just frop all the spare ones.

I have 2 collector cases.

Primary holds 1 of each, leaving me needing these 2. I don't really look hard, nor trade, but have needed only these 2 for like 2 months now.

You need the following cards to complete your collection:

#15 an Immortal Berengaria card #135 a Famous Faces Darkensi card

In other words, you need: 15, 135.

You need 2 cards to complete your collection.

Secondary Holds all Dupes. I do have a 3rd on another char somewhere, that holds 4ths and above.. or I just give em away

In other words, you need: 2, 15, 18, 35, 56, 62, 63, 69, 71, 82, 95, 97, 98, 103, 104, 107, 108, 113, 115, 127, 135, 149.

You need 22 cards to complete your collection.

You have 117 duplicates in your collection.

Won't bore ya with posting the exact Name(#) of the Dupes.. but to me, I remember the Dark Figure being tough to find at first, now I keep finding them.

Well Dwidus I can help you with 15 and 135 to finish. I have those.
I also have a second dup 15 plus 35, 69, 71, 95, 98, 104 and 115
so I got like 19 cards you can use and finish one set.

I've been card collecting as a primary source of income over in plat, and am about 30 cards away from finishing my fourth set. My theory about rare cards is that they cycle somewhat over time, and that the moderately rare cards cycle by hunting area over time. It always seems like there's one rare card that no one can find (last couple months here in plat it was Huldah (32) and Berengaria, but then a few weeks ago it seemed like a bunch of people were all finding Huldahs again. I also find that there are some cards that I just can't seem to find hunting, and I talk to someone else who frequents different areas, and we have half a dozen or more cards that the other person needs and were seemingly "rare" but someone else is finding doubles of. I don't really have scientific evidence or anything, though for awhile I was compiling a list of which creatures I found which cards on. I mostly just opt for quantity over trying to find a certain card. All those doubles can fill in your holes in your next set later on down the road when you aren't finding the same cards before you even know they're rare later (if that makes any sense).

It does kinda seem different areas may have different cards. I had been hunting one area hard for all my cards. and not making much headway after I got to 112 of 150. IN last 4 hours of just one day I went to new area and found 7 cards. all 7 of them were cards I did not have and needed. All seven were cards I have not seen in old hunting area in like 3+ months.

do foil cards fit in the case because ive never looked at my cards if they dont fit i assume i have 3 and throw it away

Is there a certain way to tell foil cards from regular ones? Is it in the look, or do you have to turn or tap them, or something?

A foil card flat out says foil card. since HSN I have heard of like 2 being found
maybe some more but overall thats mega rare. I thiink I found like 550 or so cards myself so far and none.

Anyway it says foil, it will definitly not fit in a collection case. and it has a different verb that causes a holigram effect.

I have found one. You will get a message that says something like 'you cannot put any cards like that in your case.' You then turn it to determine if it is a foil card or if you already have 3 of the same card in the case.

Tried putting it in an empty case? Maybe the system just wants you to keep complete sets of foils and regulars seperate.

How do you make money from Cards?

BTW I have picked up a bunch of them but I never understood why they are there or what they are. My first guess was as a way to acquaint new players to DR?

You pick up a card case from the seller in Crossing (near where the portal for Premium meetings opens up; there may be card case sellers in other towns, as well), and put in your cards. Once you have a full set of them (something 115 different cards?), you can turn them into a set, then sell the set (IIRC, to the pawnshop) and you get something like 33 plat for the set (again, IIRC, and it may vary depending on standard pawn shop coding).

They are in-character collectible trading cards, which also help newer characters, or players of loners, find out about famous NPCs and PCs from Elanthia's history.

Actually, it's 150 cards total. Make 33 plat for a full set right now in Prime.

and you can sell the set to the same guy that you buy the case from. He will always buy for 33 plat. not sure what you could get from the pawnshop, hafta give it a shot next time I get a full set.

I've completed 2 sets now and have not been able to get the pawnshop guy to buy any of them. Maybe he only bought the first set completed?
