The only two spells I have seen River Sprites cast are Geyser and Rising Mist. I will get many:

In one day of hunting, I had 513 such instances. I hunted for 2 hours, or so.

<<Assuming they cast successfully sometimes this is, unfortunately, a result of not having good enough casting AI to realize they're out of mana.

I think they are supposed to cast 4 spells, so are probably set with enough skill to cast the two spells they are actually casting but not enough skill to cast the other two.

From the wiki: Casts Ethereal Shield, Rising Mists, Vertigo, and occasionally Geyser.

So it looks like they just don't have enough skill to cast Vertigo or Ethereal Shield.
