Warrior mage returning after a hiatus. Where should I be hunting? I'd also like some nearby critters for backtraining stealth and locks.

If you haven't seen them, try Elanthipedia's hunting ladders: https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Category:Hunting_ladders

At the bottom of a page is a list of more specialized hunting ladders, such as locksmithing and skinning.

Note: when reading Elanthipedia's hunting ladders, do not take the range ranges as Gospel. Rather, use them as an indication of relative difficulty. If you are not learning efficiently, move down the ladder. If you are getting killed, move up the ladder.

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall rank!

I'm hunting Maelshyvean cinder beasts with slightly higher ranks as a moon mage wearing 4 armors. Maelshyvean shadow beasts, basilisks, Adan'f spirit dancers, warklins, celpeze, Dragon Priest Zealots, DP sentinels and mountain giants should also work out.

Depending on how confident you are with your buffs and how much of a challenge you like combat to be you're possibly on the low end for sky giants, ashu hhinvi, black goblins and zombie stompers.

Either way, check out the hunting ladder and try the various critters in those general skill ranges. Once you know where you like hunting you can probably easily find nearby box critters with the lists below. For stealth training cast rising mists or forage up some dirt to throw (or use a dirt pouch). Stripping off your armor can make a big difference if you're having trouble hiding. Once hidden, stalk 1st critter, stalk 2nd critter, 3rd, etc. will lock up stealth faster than simply hiding and unhiding.
