I've got a baby barb with the following skills in Crossing. Besides Eels, what could he hunt?

Light Chain: 44
Heavy Chain: 44
Light Plate: 44
Heavy Plate: 43
Parry Ability: 53
Multi Opponent: 50
Light Edged: 23
Medium Edged: 44
Heavy Edged: 45
Twohanded Edged: 37
Medium Blunt: 12
Evasion: 43
Climbing: 30
Escaping: 21
Skinning: 40

Shield is 20. I'm not a fan of shield which is why it's still low.

Here's his stats:

Strength: 16
Reflex: 12
Agility: 12
Charisma: 10
Discipline: 11
Wisdom: 11
Intelligence: 10
Stamina: 20

Beisswurms will probably be in that comfortably easy zone if you haven't passed them up already, probably cave bears but they might not be much of a challenge (and they're skins only), faenrae reavers/wind hounds.

On the other side of the ferry are bone wolves and revenant zombies. Bone wolves hit like barbarians and die like mages.

According to What2Hunt and personal experience, beisswurms start at 55 and train to 80, and while bone wolves are listed as starting at 45 ranks, I typically go to bone wolves AFTER beisswurms, and BEFORE blood wolves. As a barbarian, swarm is good, more is better, so I like cougars west of the brook til about 50 to 55 ranks, and then finish things up in grass eels from 55 to 60, beisswurms til defenses get to 70, then bone wolves to 80, and either blood wolves to 100, or sand sprites to 95, before going to silver leucros.

Become a bigger fan of shield, it's worth it.

With stone you'll be fine in eels. If I were you I'd squeeze more ranks out of cougars, but I hunt conservative. Once you close on 60, get out of eels.
