Are there any axes that are even remotely useful? I want to use an axe for RP reasons, but at the same time I care about training so I don't want to completely gimp myself. I don't mind downgrading weapon quality a -little- but it seems like all the axes I've come across are pretty gimpy compared to claymores/bastard swords.

Even if it's a festival weapon that I'd have to track down and spend lots of plats on.

Lochaber axe. Of course, that's a halberd.

Some heavy edge axes are nice its the only edge, IMHO, that has any advantage of using an axe over a blade.

There will probably be more axe patterns that players can forge when the lore split happens.

the only axe i know of that gives a benefit, and is good stat-wise - is the dwarven tunneler's axe. And that only to dwarves. Have no idea if its HE or 2HE. Never been able to get my hands on one.

App my Tunnler's axe

The axe appears quite well suited for your short strong Dwarven arms.

A Dwarven tunneler's axe is a heavy edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
no puncture damage
heavy slice damage
moderate impact damage

You are certain that the axe is reasonably balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the tunneler's axe is moderately strong, and is in pristine condition.

The tunneler's axe is made with metal.
You are certain that the tunneler's axe weighs exactly 46 stones.
You are certain that the tunneler's axe is worth exactly 1300000 lirums.

R> wave axe
You swing the tunneler's axe in a short powerful stroke that would decimate an opponent's defenses.

In non-dwarven hands the slice, balance and suited fall. And maybe impact. But puncture stays at no puncture! ;-) Oh and the messaging says you lose balance and almost wrench your shoulder out of joint.

reasonable\reasonable? It's funny how these weapons exist that blow every other like type away and Magdar has them all.

All Phii has to do is glare at the GM and they'll make a second one for her.
