I have acquired a sling for fdps. what kind of ammo is recommended? I would like some player crafted stones or shards. anyone have any info on pricing I can expect or who to buy crafted ammo from?

The default 'good stuff' ammo is quartzite shards. Obsidian also makes good material for sling ammunition. Felstone, diamondique and senci are the more expensive and higher damage stones. Shards don't have puncture damage so they won't lodge on hit, making it easier to retrieve ammunition.

Right now you can get a matte indurium sphere (sling ammo) at the Corn Maze as an end prize for 300 kernels.

You can also buy sling ammo at Hollow Eve festival if you have a ticket to enter, or ask someone with a ticket to purchase some for you. The inventory here doesn't represent the highest damage sling ammo that can be found but isn't bad ammo, just on the lower end of common. They also have the advantage of giving you a different noun (clumps/lumps) and 30 sling stones should last you quite awhile.

The easiest way to find someone selling shards is to ask on the gweth via the Trade Channel ESP. Right now a lot of characters are inside the Hollow Eve festival grounds so they won't hear gwethdesuan messages unfortunately. You can also almost always find sling ammunition for sale in the player shops of the market plaza. The quickest way to search the plaza would be to utilize either of the links below and search for 'stone shards'.

Using those apps it looks like Free Range Goods in the Crossing Market Plaza has some quartzite stone shards for sale for 5 plat. In case you aren't familiar with the Market Plaza, see here:

It's also worth noting that the Slings and Things slings are among the best slings to be had ingame so I'd recommend getting one of those if you haven't already.
