Best sling and sling ammo? 12/20/2012 02:54 PM CST
I'm using a sailcloth sling

appr my sling careful

A sling is a sling type weapon.

You are certain that the sling is fairly balanced and is fairly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the sling is appreciably susceptible to damage, and is in pristine condition.

The sling is incredibly pliant.
It appears that the sling can be worn attached to a belt.
You are certain that the sling weighs exactly 10 stones.
You are certain that the sling is worth exactly 25 lirums.
Roundtime: 16 seconds.

and pyrite clumps for ammo

appr my clump careful

You are certain that it could do:
no puncture damage
no slice damage
moderate impact damage

You are certain that the pyrite clumps are appreciably susceptible to damage, and are in pristine condition.

You are certain that the pyrite clumps weighs exactly 8 stones.
You are certain that the pyrite clumps are worth exactly 100 lirums.
Roundtime: 16 seconds.

Are there better options out there and if so, where can I buy them?

All slings in the game are the same - store bought appraisal to my knowledge.

Tanned slings are the best available currently (that I used to make), however you can't make them anymore.

A damaska-hide sling is a sling type weapon.

You are certain that the sling is reasonably balanced and is fairly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the damaska-hide sling is appreciably susceptible to damage, and is in pristine condition.

The damaska-hide sling is incredibly pliant.
It appears that the damaska-hide sling can be worn attached to a belt.
You are certain that the damaska-hide sling weighs exactly 10 stones.
You are certain that the damaska-hide sling is worth exactly 834 dokoras.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

So you can't get them anymore unless someone has one they want to sell. They also come in the fairly/reasonably or decently/decently versions.

Best Sling ammo is made out of diamondique but those are rare and expensive.

besides those are Either crafted spikes or shards. Some people like elongated stones for more impact.

>app my shard
You are certain that it could do:
no puncture damage
fair slice damage
somewhat moderate impact damage

spikes are somewhat moderate/no/fair (I think)

>app my stone
You are certain that it could do:
no puncture damage
no slice damage
somewhat heavy impact damage

look for obsidian or quartzite shards/spikes/stones

Thanks Codiax, I'll look around and see what I can find.

I thought the shards were sort of universally better for having no puncture, so they don't lodge?

Adding nothing to the conversation since 1834.

If they don't lodge, then they also don't do any lodging damage either. They're easier to use, but not the absolutely most damaging.

lodging damage adds up nicely in 3.0, but even then I kinda prefer not having my ammo poof or run away on me. I'd save the lodging stuff for special occasions.

They are both really good - so it's a matter of preference at that point. But yeah spikes lodge.

>>lodged damage

Do you get experience for this anyone know? If so, the lodged versions may train better in 3.0?

You get a diamondique stone shard from inside your thigh bag.
>app shard
You are certain that it could do:
no puncture damage
somewhat moderate slice damage
moderate impact damage

You are certain that the stone shard is a bit safeguarded against damage, and is in pristine condition.

You are certain that the stone shard weighs exactly 1 stone.
You are certain that the stone shard is worth exactly 20000 lirums.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

And if you don't want to go on a quest to get a deed to maybe get someone to craft a stone shard...

You get an obsidian stone shard from inside your leather belt.

You are certain that it could do:
no (0/25) puncture damage
fair (5/25) slice damage
somewhat moderate (6/25) impact damage
no fire damage
no cold damage
no electric damage

The stone shard is dismally designed for improving the force of your attacks.

You are certain that the stone shard is quite fragile and easily damaged (3/18), and is in pristine condition (98-100%).

You are certain that the stone shard weighs exactly 1 stone.
You are certain that the stone shard is worth exactly 288 dokoras.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

I feel a lot less horrified about losing these than I would a diamondique one!

The teeth lands a solid (5/23) hit that pokes the teeth into Turul's rear end (more embarrassing than painful!).
