What is the proper way to fight with one of these? Use it as a piercing weapon or use it as a slicer?

The iltesh seems to have a nice balance between the two styles- at least, that is what I saw when I appraised a few and compared them to scimitars.

their pretty even on damage for piercing and slicing, so honestly just use whatever seems to be doing the trick at the moment.
