Learning offhand 12/26/2010 01:51 AM CST
Does offhand soft cap lower than conventional weapons? I've been having a tough time getting it any higher than about 2/34.
I (try to) train it with HE or ME.
Recently I've switched to ME because I get one or two hits at most with a HE, and it's not very conducive to learning either OH or HE.

Try using throwing blades. I know you have quite a bit more OH than I do, but I lock it easily at ~650 ranks using thrown.

In so much as you're only getting a percentage of the exp (I think it's 70%), yes. Off hand hard caps at a similar rank, but the soft cap is lower since you're getting less exp per action because some of the exp is going to the weapon you used.

The more exp generating actions you can perform in a given time frame, the better (usually). This is why multi shot TM or spamming min prep Bolt works so well for TM.

Throwing blades doesn't work either. The result is LT goes up, but OH does not move from 1/34.

I had no problems with offhand under 950, but now it seems to have nearly stopped moving at all. I can still learn it slowly, but only while I'm actively training it.
